With Fortnite Season 6 pressing on with full steam, Epic Games continues to bring a plethora of fresh content into the multiplayer sandbox survival title, as the studio recently added the Lightning & Thunderstorms gear set to the in-game store. Now, it looks as if the developer is going to bring a new emote to the game that remains consistent with the current Halloween theme, and tips its hat to the Dark Souls series in the process.

As seen in the brief video below, a datamine of Fortnite Battle Royale's game files have uncovered the emote dubbed "Storm Salutation". Once selected, a player's character will put their hands up in the air similarly to how Dark Souls' "Praise the Sun" gesture plays out. There's no telling when Epic Games will officially add "Storm Salutation", however, as the studio occasionally adds items to the game files, but doesn't make them available in the game itself.

While Dark Souls fans should get a kick out of Fortnite's take on "Praise the Sun" gesture, it's worth noting that this isn't the only emote in the Battle Royale title to pay homage to another cultural icon. As it so happens, Epic added a dance emote that relied on Julia Louis-Dreyfus’character Elaine Benes from the scripted television sitcom Seinfeld as a source of inspiration for the emote’s movements.

All things considered, with Fortnite Season 6 still in its early weeks, it's safe to presume that Epic Games will continue to keep adding new content to the hybrid construction shooter, and Dark Souls fans will likely be keeping their eye out for the "Storm Salutations" emote. A handful of Halloween cosmetics have already leaked, but there will almost assuredly be more datamines coming in the near future.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. An Android beta is currently underway.
