How to Get Custom Crosshair in Fortnite

The first thing that players will want to do is load up their 1v1 world in Fortnite. Once players are on the map, they will want to open up their menu and then select the 'My Island' option on the right-hand side of the screen. Now, players will need to go to the Creative option on the top of the screen, hit the devices category, and then find a tool called the 'HUD Message Device' that players will need to equip.

Players should now throw the device on the ground and then resize it to be a little bit bigger. It'll be easier to work with this way. Go close to it and then hit the button prompt to customize it. Once the menu opens up, players will need to hit the second tab, and then they'll see a space to type a message. Whatever's in this line of text will be by the custom crosshair in Fortnite.

If players type a dot in the space, the crosshair will just be a simple dot. Any letter or symbol will work, so Fortnite fans can choose whatever they like the most, whether that be a V or an asterisk or maybe a minus/plus sign.

As for the other settings in this menu, changing the Time from Round Start to 1 second will ensure that the crosshair is activated as soon as the game begins. The next option, display time, should be marked as permanent. To get the custom crosshair to appear in the center, players will also need to head to the Game UI menu and toggle the reticle to On. And by changing the HUD Scale to about 75%, that will center the crosshair with the reticle.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
