Fortnite's Season 5 content is now well underway, with plenty of new characters making their way to the game for the very first time. Recently, the Predator officially joined Fortnite alongside a handful of other famous hunters and thieves from pop culture, like the Mandalorian.

Now, prominent Fortnite leaker and dataminer Mang0e is teasing some brand new skins that don't have anything to do with Fortnite's current Season 5 theme, but instead relate to a much older event. Mang0e has tweeted out screenshots of Fortnite asset files and data pertaining to skins and cosmetics related to the Cube, which first showed up in Fortnite all the way back in 2018.

For those who may have only started playing Fortnite recently, the game's infamous in-game live events have actually been going on for quite awhile now, first starting back Season 4 of Chapter 1. The very first major live event in Fortnite was called "Blast Off," while the next two events, called the "Crack Closure" and the "Butterfly Event," both had to do with a giant purple cube that suddenly appeared on Fortnite's map. The Cube, or Kevin the Cube as fans lovingly nicknamed it, was a new phenomenon that slowly traveled around the Fortnite map and displayed strange properties relating to the Storm.

Following the Cube's in-game events and disappearance, Epic Games released cube-related cosmetic items and skins. These skins would often be "dark" versions of existing skins, like Dark Jonesy or Dark Bomber. Now, Mang0e is teasing more cube-related skins that could be coming to Fortnite in the future. The two screenshots relate to Fortnite skins and assets called "KevinCouture" and "CubeNinja." Going off the names, it's safe to assume that the latter skin refers to some sort of "Dark Ninja" skin while the former refers to a skin directly based off Kevin the Cube.

The "KevinCouture" skin has actually been in the game's files since October of last year, but still has yet be officially released. However, it seems that Epic Games recently updated the skin to display "Rune" material and texture, just like Kevin the Cube did while in Fortnite. Unfortunately, there's no real way of knowing exactly when these two skins will be officially released. As Mang0e points out in a subsequent tweet, they expected the "KevinCouture" skin to release during the 2020 Halloween event. Still, it's nice to know that Fortnite still has plans to keep releasing cosmetics centering around the Cube.

Additionally, it would be a pretty big deal for Ninja to get a second in-game skin relating to him. Tyler "Ninja" Blevins got an official Fortnite skin at the start of 2020, as the first "Icon Series" skin. Since then, other celebrities have gotten Icon Series skins, such as Loserfruit, Marshmello, and even Travis Scott. However, Ninja would be the first to have two skins directly referencing a celebrity in-game. While it remains to be seen when exactly his second skin will come to Fortnite, players should keep an eye out for anything Cube-related in the near future.

Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
