Fortnite Season 6 is here, and players can look forward to all the usual new releases like skins. But the main theme of Season 6 is survival, and nothing says "survival" more than crafting items and weapons from whatever can be scavenged off the land. The new map added as part of the season is filled with opportunities to hunt wildlife and gather from the ruins left behind by the pulse. Crafting is the main focus in Season 6 of Fortnite, and it's easier than ever.

Crafting is as simple as opening the inventory and switching to the Crafting tab. All of the upgrades, transformations, and other crafting recipes are conveniently available here at any time. There are many possibilities that will become apparent as the new season of Fortnite unfolds.

Before any crafting can be done, materials are needed. Of course, resources can be picked up from other defeated players, but there's also wildlife to hunt, cars and other machinery to scavenge, and Makeshift weapons waiting to be found anywhere. Animal Bones and Mechanical Parts are the bread and butter of creating useful items in this new season of Fortnite.

Weapons are what it's all about, and the new Primal and Mechanical weapons will be the new go-to for players who want to use the best tools for a shot at victory. Combining a relatively useless Makeshift weapon with Animal Bones will turn it into a high-damage Primal form, and using Mechanical parts instead will create a high-precision Classic weapon.

There are more crafting recipes to be found beyond simply upgrading weapons into a Primal or Classic form. For example, there are multiple varieties of Bow weapons introduced in Fortnite Season 6. There are other types of crafting materials to be found aside from just Animal Bones and Mechanical Parts, and using them together in creative ways will make for some surprisingly effective results. Items like gas canisters or firefly jars can be combined with a Primal Bow to make the Flame Bow, or combining Shockwaves with a Mechanical Bow will fittingly result in a Mechanical Shockwave Bow.

All of these options and more are extremely accessible from the new Crafting menu, and the passionate fans out there are sure to sing praises for this convenient new system. With many potential crafting recipes to be discovered, players who quickly get a handle on mastering the craft will find early success in Season 6. The idea that knowledge is power has never been more true for fans of the popular battle royale game.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
