The location of Coral Castle was officially added to Fortnite back in Chapter 2 Season 3, but the point-of-interest has just undergone several changes. Although many location changes in Fortnite are typically met with mixed reactions, many players aren't happy about these changes.

The Mothership of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 recently opened its main hatch in order to send an abduction beam towards Coral Castle. This beam is changing several things in Coral Castle and it allows players to navigate the point-of-interest with the hop rock effect. Several pieces of the location are floating in the air thanks to the Mothership's abduction beam including the smaller Coral Castle building, the pathways, and a boat.

Fortnite's Coral Castle has historically had minimal loot, but Epic Games has added an IO Camp to the location to sweeten the point-of-interest a bit. The camp includes IO Chests which typically include weapons with rare quality or better, as well as items such as the Recon Scanner and Prop-ifier. Although these changes have increased interest in Coral Castle, many Fortnite fans remain unhappy with the location.

Reddit user Rifted-06 recently shared a screenshot from Fortnite showing the destruction caused by the Mothership this season. The image shows just how devastated Coral Castle is, with a major chunk of it being ripped from the map. The Mothership seemingly knew about Coral Castle's notoriety with being an unpopular Fortnite location, but instead of replacing it, a crater was simply left in the middle of the point-of-interest.

While some Fortnite fans would've preferred this location simply replaced by the whirlpool that previously took up this part of the map, others wanted to see more from Coral Castle during Chapter 2 Season 7. Multiple Reddit users teased the Fortnite fans that wanted Coral Castle gone for so long, saying now that it is they should be happy. A handful of Reddit users took to the thread to say that they're still happy Coral Castle is gone.

While pieces of Coral Castle remain, most of the location has been destroyed by the Fortnite Mothership and it's currently unclear if it will be restored in the future. Some Reddit users claim that this is their opportunity to skip out on Coral Castle entirely, but others lament the missed opportunity with the recent changes. One, in particular, would've liked to see the location swapped with another.

One Reddit user accurately pointed out that Coral Castle used to have 17 chests, and now it has a mere 13. This makes the point-of-interest second only to Slurpy Swamp as the least lootable zone in Fortnite. Many Fortnite fans are already speculating about the changes that will be made to Corny Complex as the Mothership moves along the battle royale island.

Fortnite is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
