Although buying skins on Fortnite usually means directly spending $10-$20 on the Fortnite store, there was one rare skin that players could only obtain by buying a bundled PS4. Now, the Royale Bomber is also available for purchase with a PS4 controller at select retailers.

In mid-July, Epic Games and Sony teamed up to release a PS4 bundle that included arguably the rarest character skin of all, Royale Bomber. Now Epic and Sony have made Royale Bomber more accessible by releasing a controller bundle that also includes 500 V-bucks. The bundle has seemed to resonate with players due to the $60 price tag of the controller bundle compared to the much more expensive PS4 system bundle.

Fortnite skins are completely cosmetic, meaning they have no impact on actual gameplay, but they can affect how an opponent approaches you during a match. Typically, the rarer or more expensive the skin, the more frightened newer players will be in battle. Though nowadays, it is becoming increasingly difficult to come across new players.

Although Fortnite is a free game, Epic Games reportedly makes around $300 million/month off of battle passes and skins. In a recent study done by LendEDU, a survey was distributed to 1,000 Fortnite gamers asking them a series of questions about their spending habits on Fortnite. When concluded, the study had revealed that nearly 69% of Fortnite gamers have spent money on the free-to-play phenomenon, while 25% have also spent money on Twitch subscriptions. The average amount of money spent between the 69% of spenders was $84.67, $20 over what a brand new AAA game would cost.

There is little argument against the fact that Fortnite, released by Epic Games in July 2017, is one of the best things to happen to the gaming industry. While some players enjoy the game and some may not, Epic Games' constant desire to improve and give players what they want is frankly unheard of. Because of Epic Games' incredible success, players can and should expect better treatment by other developers for current and future games.

Fortnite is available to play for free now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, IOS, and Android.
