The new Shockwave Hammer has been controversial since it was first released, but Epic Games still hasn't removed or fixed it, leading to frustration in the Fortnite community. Throughout the game's seasons and chapters, there have been dozens of items and weapons that have come and gone. Some have stayed longer than others, and it usually depends on how the Fortnite community reacts to them and the feedback that they provide.

Leaks usually happen before a new item is added to Fortnite and players tend to immediately start speculating about how it might affect the game in terms of gameplay. The Heavy Shotgun was just unvaulted last week since there weren't too many shotgun options this season; it was a well-liked shotgun when it first appeared in Fortnite, so players took this addition well. However, this is not the case with all of the weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

At the moment, fans have been upset with the state of the Shockwave Hammer, a newly added melee weapon that can be used to bounce around on the map or smash enemies to pieces. It can deal 125 damage to players if it hits them close enough, and it can deal up to 600 damage to structures. What has angered players is the fact that the Shockwave Hammer is both overpowered and glitched. Recently, a video showing how to bounce indefinitely using the Shockwave Hammer was shared all over the Fortnite community, and players have been using it to their advantage. Epic Games has not fixed or vaulted the weapon yet which is odd since they tend to release hotfixes pretty quickly to solve these issues.

A couple of weeks ago, a My Hero Academia item was vaulted not too long after making its debut in Fortnite. The Deku's Smash was a Mythical item that could only be used three items per match. So, even though it was very powerful and could eliminate players in a single hit, it had to be used wisely since it would then disappear from its user's inventory. The Shockwave Hammer, on the other hand, has a cooldown, but it can be used indefinitely. Fans have found it strange that the Deku's Smash, a much more balanced item, was vaulted so soon after its release while the Shockwave Hammer remained in the game.

The Shockwave Hammer has been controversial since the first day of the season. It was first showcased in the opening trailer for this season to try and get fans excited for what was to come. However, as soon as the players started finding the Shockwave Hammer on the battlefield or having to defend themselves against it, their excitement turned into apprehensiveness rather quickly, and now they can't wait to see it removed from the game.

Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
