Fortnite is rolling out its quests for Week 12, giving players a fresh set of challenges to complete in exchange for large amounts of XP. One of these quests requires players to tackle a multi-step endeavor: collect three alien devices, then activate the countermeasure device underneath Corny Complex.

Epic Games' enduringly popular free-to-play battle royale title is now in its final weeks of Season 7. The alien invasion-themed season has introduced many changes and additions to the game, including an array of high-tech alien weaponry, the loot-filled mothership, and more. This season seems to have had particularly robust and frequent content updates, although some fans aren't happy about the recent Coral Castle changes.

How to Collect three Alien Devices, then Activate the Countermeasure Device Underneath Corny Complex in Fortnite

As mentioned before, this quest comes in two stages: first collecting the three alien devices around the island, and then using those devices to activate a countermeasure device found underneath the Corny Complex POI. Each device, while somewhat centric to Corny Complex, is located in fairly nondescript purple locations, so players will need to know exactly where to go. Players will want to be looking for a small, floating purple ball. The first one of these can be found at the bottom of the purple area northwest of Corny. The second is located near a bush on the eastern edge of the purple area in the center of the island. The third and final device is under a tree in the purple clearing directy south of Corny Complex.

Once players have managed to collect all three alien devices, they'll next need to head to Corny Complex. As regular players will know, the named location has been taken over by the mysterious IO and Doctor Slone. Players can access their underground headquarters by either going in the silo or passing through the bush on by the eastern side of the plateau of the POI's central building. Once underground, navigate to a large floor-to-ceiling device with three holes in the center. Interact with the countermeasure device, and the quest is complete. This is the last stage of the Week 12 Legendary quest, so Fortnite players will need to complete all prior tasks, like deploying scanners in an alien biome.

While Fortnite has certainly given players a bevy of outer space and alien-themed content this season, with the invaders stealing locations and whatnot, it seems that some of that content may have been "stolen" itself, so to speak. Last week, Fortnite introduced a new mode called Imposters, one that has near-universally been considered to be an Among Us clone. The indie smash-hit's developers aren't too happy about the new Fortnite mode, with one developer feeling "powerless" over Fortnite's use of the game's mechanics, themes, and terminology.

Players who complete this Legendary quest will be rewarded with a massive chunk of XP. With Season 8 expected to begin in just a few short weeks, many Fortnite fans are beginning to theorize about what changes the new season will bring. While info regarding the theme remains scarce, Fortnite's Halloween 2021 event plans have leaked online, potentially confirming the return of a fan-favorite mode.

Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
