Fortnite launches Chapter 4 for players which takes the massively popular battle royale in a new direction thanks to a new island, movement techniques, vehicles, and of course, cosmetics. Players have likely been expecting big things to come for Fortnite based on how the Chapter 3 finale went. In typical Epic Games fashion, the world has been changed completely with a massive event ultimately forming a completely new island for players to encounter and explore.

Prior to the Season 4 launch, Epic released a teaser cinematic that showed the new world forming, and teasing plenty of cameos players could likely expect to see. Eagle-eyed players appeared to spot some big name characters in the Fortnite teaser like Geralt of Rivia, The Incredible Hulk, as well as possible My Hero Academia collaboration similar to Epic's past work with the Dragon Ball franchise. As it turns out, those theories were proven true, as Epic has finally posted the launch trailer for Fortnite Chapter 4.

The newest Fortnite trailer has a ton of content for players to check out, many of which confirms the rumors and theories that had been floating around in the past 24 hours. The initial reveal is around Dirt Bikes called Trail Thrashers. Players can use these to quickly get around the map, but also perform tricks in the air as well. Epic has also added new movement techniques to get around including mantling over smaller objects, forming a snowball and riding it down a hill, and using a massive shockwave hammer to not only damage enemies and structures, but to launch themselves into the air to cover long distances.

Epic followed the trailer up with a larger blog post covering even more changes in Chapter 4 including the Reality Augments, which are similar to perks in other multiplayer shooters like Call of Duty. During specific intervals, players can pick between two, with more choices being presented the longer the player stays alive. Some options include Light Fingers which makes light ammo weapons reload faster, Aerialist which gives the player unlimited redeploys, Supercharged to eliminate fuel usage and increase vehicle health, and more. Players can also reroll their choices if they're not happy with their random options.

Finally, Epic also went on to confirm the latest round of cosmetics and collaborations. Later this season, Epic is bringing the massive Incredible Hulk and Monster Hunting Witcher Geralt of Rivia. In addition to Battle Pass skins for characters like Massai, Selene, Dusty, Nezumi, Helsie, and The Ageless, players also got a fantastic look at id Software's own DOOM Slayer, who brings along his little action figure buddy.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
