Pretty much ever since Fortnite was launched roughly five years ago, mentions of the Imagined Order, or IO, and the mysterious Seven have percolated throughout the title's lore and story. Growing in significance as time has gone on, the two warring factions' conflict will seemingly finally come to a head in the newly announced Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 end event, "COLLISION."Newly announced, the upcoming "COLLISION" event will mark the end of one of Fortnite's most controversial seasons. Epic Games' popular free-to-play battle royale title made waves when it completely removed its signature building mechanic for a time. In more recent weeks, Fortnite players have been steadily taking down the IO's various blimps while older weapons get temporarily unvaulted, like the Rail Gun and Recon Scanner.RELATED: Video of Pro Fortnite Player Sin Making Racist Remarks SurfacesDetailed in an official blog post, "COLLISION" should quite literally be a collision between the Seven and the Imagined Order, as this season's various "Resistance" quests have all been building towards. Taking place on Saturday, June 4 at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET, the season-ending event will most likely see the return of Mecha Team Leader (whose construction can be seen progressing in the background of the lobby) to take down Doctor Slone's Collider machine that popped up recently. Players will be able to squad up to four players, and are recommended to log in 30 minutes early.

There is a chance that players may even be able to pilot Mecha Team Leader itself, with Fortnite posting the above teaser audio of "hurry to battle stations." In the days leading up to the event, there will also be Mecha Weapons Team Outfits available, with the skin also teased for the next Fortnite Crew pack. Epic also recommends fans and content creators record the season-ending event, as it will not be something replayable.

As with the end of previous seasons, Fortnite will again have a Bargain Bin Week. While it's unclear if there will be another accompanying batch of quests again, prices on any weapon, item, or service will be steeply discounted, encouraging players to spend all of their Gold Bars before they expire after the end of the season.

With Fortnite's Chapter 3 Season 2-ending event "COLLISION" scheduled to happen on June 4, it almost certainly means that Chapter 3 Season 3 will start the next day, June 5, a day later than previously estimated. While it's still a bit vague on what exactly will happen during "COLLISION," Fortnite players can expect quite the wild ride.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
