Today is a big day for the Fortnite battle royale. Later today, Fortnite Chapter 2 will come to an end and will be replaced by Chapter 3, and while fans will have to wait for the event to happen at 4pm ET, leaks have given everyone a pretty good idea of what to expect. It seems as though the Fortnite battle royale map is getting flipped over, and on the other side is a brand new battle royale arena for players to fight over.

The latest Fortnite Chapter 3 leak focuses on the new Battle Pass as well as other content that's coming to the battle royale with the new season. It seems Fortnite Chapter 3 is adding Spider-Man and various alternate costumes for Spider-Man to the game, which makes sense as Spider-Man: No Way Home is releasing in theaters soon and there's been collaborations between the BR and the MCU for years. The Spider-Man influence will be seen elsewhere as well, with Fortnite players able to visit the Daily Bugle and even web-swing.

Spider-Man isn't the only crossover character coming to Fortnite Chapter 3 with the new map. It's also been confirmed by the leaked Battle Pass trailer that a Gears of War crossover is happening, with Kait Diaz and Marcus Fenix joining Fortnite's ever-growing and increasingly impressive roster of characters. The Gears of War crossover may be especially interesting to fans when one considers that Fortnite developer Epic Games was the original developer of the Gears of War franchise before Microsoft bought it and handed it over to The Coalition.

Something else Fortnite players may notice in the trailer is the inclusion of The Foundation. The Foundation is an important character in Fortnite lore, and is rumored to be voiced by none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It seems Fortnite fans will learn more about The Foundation in Chapter 3, and perhaps official confirmation of The Rock's involvement could be coming, too.

Besides revealing new Fortnite character skins, the Chapter 3 trailer also highlights some of the new gameplay mechanics that fans can expect when Chapter 3 goes live. It seems leaks about Fortnite adding a sliding mechanic are true, as it's clearly shown off multiple times in the leaked trailer. Not only that, but players are now able to stash away items in portable tents that they can then use in future games. The example in the trailer shows a Fortnite player throwing down their stash, grabbing a Legendary-tier hunting rifle, and then using it to kill an opposing player with a headshot.

An official Battle Pass trailer and more on the Chapter 3 map should come to light later today after the Fortnite Chapter 2 end event takes place at 4pm ET.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
