Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped arrived with an abundance of new content on an unfamiliar island. While the new Chapter had its Battle Pass details leaked recently, it is still exciting to see these playable character skins and new mobility maneuvers introduced to Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 3's island debuted a "wintry biome," as well as tropics and a desert with several unique locations and landmarks to traverse. The island also presents new weapons, pastimes such as camping in a pitched tent, and a new Victory Crown feature that paint a target on successful players' heads in subsequent matches. But with a new Chapter also comes a slate of new and iconic characters from Fortnite's iconic crossovers that fans will be able to play as, all of which were revealed in a new character trailer.

Fortnite's Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass unlocks Spider-Man, Shanta, Ronin, Lt. John Llama, Gumbo, Harlowe, Haven, and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's The Foundation as playable character skins. Spider-Man and The Foundation are the clear masthead mascots for Fortnite Chapter 3's first Season. There are plans to add other Spider-Man-related content this Season in the Item Shop as well.

Fortnite players are told to "look out for new Spideys" later on in the Season, which likely refers to alternate costume skins from the source material. But it is also added that "a few friends and foes" will be "dropping into the Item Shop throughout the Season." This suggests that players can look forward to other potential Spider-Man aquaintances and villains from the Marvel Comics universe making an appearance at some point.

However, the new Chapter's orientation notes admit that all other Battle Pass characters will precede Spider-Man, so it may be a while until fans can play as the web-slinger himself. Fortunately, players will still be able to use Spider-Man's Web-Shooters as any character. Spider-Man's Web-Shooters release on December 11, and they look like the character's gloves in-game, allowing players to swing on buildings that include the "towering, web-covered Daily Bugle" erected in Fortnite Chapter 3's Sanctuary tropics.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The mobile version of Fortnite is still currently unavailable on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
