  • Chapter renewals in Fortnite completely change the map, and fans hope that the OG Fortnite island will return in the upcoming season.
  • Several iconic locations from Chapter 1, such as Paradise Palms, Loot Lake, and Fatal Fields, should make a comeback in the game.
  • The Block, a unique location that featured Creative Fortnite maps built by players, is no longer available on the main map, disappointing fans who enjoyed showcasing their creations.

Since Fortnite came out in 2017, the developers have updated the game a lot. Whenever there's a new season, a lot of named locations come and go, but there's another change that takes it to a completely new level - a new chapter. Whenever there's a chapter renewal in Fortnite, the entire map is completely wiped out and replaced. At the end of Season X, which was on October 13, 2019, the map that players battled on for two years vanished, and a new map appeared.

Season X, and everything that came before it, was part of Chapter 1, and everything that's happened since is Chapter 2. Since the original Fortnite map is one of fans' favorites, this list includes some of the best locations that should definitely come back eventually.

Updated on October 26, 2023, by Ashely Claudino: There are several rumors that once Chapter 4 Season 4 comes to an end, the upcoming season will be the start of a brand-new chapter set in a familiar place - the OG Fortnite island.

Chapter 1 had some of the most memorable POIs and landmarks. This article has now been updated; it now contains some well-deserved locations so that new players can get to know them and in order to refresh the memories of those who played back in the day.

14 Paradise Palms

Paradise Palms

When Season 5 was released on July 12, 2018, part of the map became a desert. Paradise Palms was a city in this desert, and it immediately became a beloved location.

Before Paradise Palms appeared on the map, this area was known as Moisty Mire, which was around since the game's first season; these two areas would eventually become one and be renamed Moisty Palms. Even though there have been some similar locations added to the game since Paradise Palms was around, it would be great to be able to revisit this POI.

13 Loot Lake

Loot Lake

Even though it was hard to traverse through Loot Lake when it was around in Chapter 1, some fans would love to have it back, especially considering how much building and mobility have improved since the first chapter. There are a lot more bodies of water in Chapter 4's map and Loot Lake would fit right in.

Technically, a piece of Loot Lake is still around in Chapter 4. Players can explore a strange floating Loot Island that appears in the middle of every match, and it looks exactly like the island in the center of Loot Lake.

12 Fatal Fields

Fatal Fields

There were two farms when the game was first released: Anarchy Acres and Fatal Fields. As Anarchy Acres wasn't as popular as Fatal Fields, it was removed from the game back in Season 5. Plus, if the Fortnite theories are right, only post-Season 5 POIs will make it onto the island.

Fatal Fields had cornfields that were hard to see past, making them a great place to hide, as well as a river, small forests, and buildings. Arguably, besides Frenzy Fields, Fatal Fields is one of the most well-known farms to ever be featured in Fortnite.

11 Flush Factory

og location in fortnite

Flush Factory isn't a location that players visited often side it was located on the southwestern corner of the map, but it actually had a lot of chests; an entire squad could go there and come out with great loot.

Out of all the Chapter 1 POIs, Flush Factory is one of the most underrated Fortnite locations, and it definitely deserves a second chance. Perhaps, if it ever made a return, the developers could move it to a more favorable area of the map.

10 Pressure Plant

Pressure Plant

The Pressure Plant was one of the last locations to be added to the Chapter 1 map. Before players could go there, it was a volcano that erupted at the end of Season 8, destroying other areas on the map.

Throughout Season 9, the Pressure Plant became an important location as it was where the Mecha was built. As the Pressure Plant wasn't around for that long, only those who played the game towards the end of Chapter 1 were able to go there, so it'd be great to give players another opportunity to see this underrated location that didn't have as much time to reach its full potential as other areas did.

9 Motel

chapter 1 map landmark motel

The Chapter 1 Motel wasn't a named location, but it was a great landmark. While playing solos, it was a great spot to land, as it had tons of rooms, an empty pool, and a broken-down house next to it, all of which had tons of chests and ammo boxes for players to loot.

Gamers would oftentimes rotate to Motel after visiting Junk Junction, then they would go down to the Umbrella Mine before heading to Loot Lake or Anarchy Acres.

8 Lonely Lodge

Lonely Lodge

Despite its name, there was a lot more at this location than just a lodge. Surrounded by a giant forest, players were also able to go to a lookout tower and a mansion that was added in Season 4. This mansion originally served as the base of a superhero team, while a group of villains was in their own base at Snobby Shores. However, it would eventually be destroyed before being removed along with everything else around it.

Despite the great lore behind it, it's one of the original locations in Fortnite, and among the several chaotic POIs, some fans would surely love to land there.

7 Haunted Hills

Haunted Hills

Though it wasn't around from the very beginning, it's hard to remember when Haunted Hills wasn't in the Chapter 1 map, as it joined the game right in Season 2. It was a graveyard that had both tombstones and mausoleums.

Fortnite is one of the most popular games and part of this is due to the game reinvigorating itself with season updates.

A castle sat on top of the hill beside the cemetery in Season 6, which was a great time to add it to the game as Halloween and the Fortnitemares event were right around the corner. Although players would have to run away from the storm most of the time whenever they would land in Haunted Hills, mobility has improved quite a lot since then, and it would be much easier to leave and escape the storm afterward.

6 Tomato Temple

Tomato Temple

There are several fictional restaurants in Fortnite's universe, with one of them being Uncle Pete's Pizza Pit, which could be found in Tomato Town.

The restaurant and other parts of the town were replaced in Season 5 with Tomato Temple, and like Tomato Town, the majority of Tomato Temple was eventually taken away a few seasons later, being replaced by the volcano and the jungle.

5 Prison

prison landmark in fortnite

The Prison was a huge landmark available in the original Fortnite map, and many players would surely be happy to return to it. This place had tons of possible chest spawns, and its watch towers provided high ground when players weren't as accustomed to the building mechanic as they are now.

4 Dusty Divot

Dusty Divot

Dusty Divot is a location that was put into the game at the beginning of Season 4 after Dusty Depot was hit by the meteor. In the middle of this new area was a research facility, though in Season 5, a forest grew in its place and a diner was added to it. Dusty Depot made a return in Season X before both versions of this area on the map were removed from the game completely.

Being iconic as it was back then, it would be great it be able to go back to this divot and jump around with the hop rocks that surrounded it.

3 The Block

Fortnite characters looking at The Block

The Block was a very unique location compared to everywhere else on the Chapter 1 map. From Season 7 to Season X, it featured Creative Fortnite maps that were built by players. This gave fans who enjoyed making their own loations a chance to have their creations seen by all of the other players.

Though they can still work on their own projects in Creative, it's unfortunate that players can no longer have them on the main map.

2 Salty Springs

salty springs named location

Salty Springs was one of the most hectic named locations on the Chapter 1 map. Players who were looking for a fight but didn't go to Tilted Towers would oftentimes come to Salty Springs instead. These suburbs were far from peaceful when they were on the OG map.

Gamers familiar with this location knew which houses contained the best loot and which ones would only be useful to visit if there were no other options. On top of this, there was also a large watch tower on the plateau overlooking the POI, and some gamers would land there and scout which houses had already been taken by their opponents.

1 Tilted Towers

Tilted Towers

Tilted Towers is the most popular location to ever be in the game. It was a city that was introduced in Season 2 and the majority of the game's players started going there. It became known as the best place to get the most kills but also resulted in many fans losing games almost as quickly as they started them.

At the end of Season 8, it was destroyed and replaced three times before Season X ended, with these three areas being Neo Tilted, Tilted Town, and, due to a collaboration with DC, Gotham City. It was featured on the map a few times afterward, and the clock tower can still be found on the Chapter 4 map, but there is no doubt that, out of every location that could return, the majority of fans would be happy with Tilted Towers.
