With Fortnite Season 6 currently live, there's no doubt that a plethora of players are exploring all of the fresh changes and tweaks Epic Games has recently made to the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of the title with Update v6.0. While Epic could easily rest on its laurels at this point, it looks as if the studio will be continually working on the game for the foreseeable future to bring new content to players. In fact, one recent feature the developer could have in the works for Season 6 is a Capture the Flag mode.

As seen in the tweet below, a new 50v50 sub-playlist has been added to Fortnite Battle Royale's game files under a header called the "Seize Pack". Interestingly enough, this file also has the term "Flag" attached to it, which could indicate that a Capture the Flag mode is indeed in the works.

However, there's always the chance that the aforementioned Fortnite playlist might not ever make it into the title, especially since the addition of a particular asset file isn't confirmation of its inclusion in the game. Should the potential Capture the Flag mode go live, though, the safest bet is that it will be added in a few weeks from now, as the flag item doesn't appear to be entirely complete at this point in time.

All things considered, a Capture the Flag mode would likely delight Fortnite's fan base, especially if the teams are broken up into half of a given match's player count taking on the other half. As many Fortnite fans may agree, 50v50 is one of the game's most enjoyable modes available, and adding a Capture the Flag objective on top of it ought to make for some fantastically chaotic matches.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. An Android beta is currently underway.
