It was a very eventful weekend for Epic Games as the studio teamed up with the musician Marshmello to put on a virtual concert in the popular Battle Royale mode. As Fortnite players dropped into Pleasant Park to take part in the event, Epic Games disabled combat to prevent any sort of griefing during the show. The event proved to be a smashing success as it set a new concurrent player record coming in at over 10 million. While there aren't any upcoming concerts currently on the schedule, Epic Games seems to have a few more explosive surprises coming to the game real soon.

According to the FNBRLeaks Twitter account, it appears that Bottle Rockets are soon going to be added to Fortnite Battle Royale. The leak also indicates that this item is going to be set at an uncommon rarity, with a description that seems to indicate the weapon will do significant damage to structures. At this time, it isn't known when this item will be added, though many players expect to see it in this week's update.

The leak also doesn't reveal how the item will work, though a few clues in the Fortnite file suggest it will be similar to a mounted turret. The community has also been speculating that this weapon may be a mix of a defensive style object like the boombox and a more offensive style explosive weapon. Either way, it seems players won't have to wait too much longer until they can get their hands on them.

The other big leak from last week, outside of the in-game concert, was that some sort of cataclysmic event is likely going to signal the end of the current season and usher in new map changes. Already, the map is beginning to thaw out, thanks to a mysterious NPC known as The Prisoner. According to dataminers, last week's update contained references to an Earthquake, leaving many to believe this thaw will lead to Polar Peak turning into an active volcano and an earthquake once again changing the Battle Royale map.

Fortnite is available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
