Fortnite has gone through a ton of changes during the latest season, including some wild nautical events. A massive flood took over the map, leaving many locations underwater. Players have also been scrambling to complete Battle Pass challenges to unlock the lord of the sea himself, Aquaman. Now, Fortnite leaker "HYPEX" may have revealed some darkness in Aquaman's future.

Now that Fortnite is in the middle of a 4th of July event, players have been treated to another superhero skin. Captain America has joined Fortnite as a patriotic defender of justice. However, Aquaman is still fighting to save the Fortnite map and may be challenged by another new character. A new leak has revealed that players may get a chance to play as Aquaman's nemesis, Black Manta. The leak indicates that both Black Manta and an Aquaman skin will be available in the item shop, starting on July 16 at 2 PM, ET.

Black Manta is a mercenary who wears a high-tech battle suit and is Aquaman's greatest enemy. Black Manta utilizes optic lasers and signature dual-blades that he is very dangerous with. The leak also claims that Black Manta's dual-blades will also be available as harvesting tools in the shop at the same time. This means players will be able to purchase the Black Manta skin along with the dual-blades to complete the full supervillain outfit.

Another dataminer has found evidence that Aquaman's home of Atlantis will also be a new location, but is currently not accessible to players in-game. Players are able to see a large underwater canyon, and files indicate possible buildings in the future. If there is an update around the 16th, it may be possible that Atlantis will be revealed along with Black Manta. Could Atlantis be the location where players are able to see a final showdown between Aquaman and Black Manta to resolve the flooding of the map?

The leak also mentions another Aquaman skin, but it is unknown whether the skin will be entirely new, or the skins that can be earned through challenges. Right now, Aquaman cannot be purchased, but that will change if he is added to the item shop. There have been a few skins previously leaked, but Black Manta and Aquaman were not included. As players continue to enjoy the 4th of July celebrations and complete the weekly challenges, look to the 16th for a possible update with new skins coming to the item shop.

Fortnite is currently available to play now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
