The official Twitter account of Fortnite, replying to a Warner Bros. tweet showing the cast of upcoming DC Extended Universe film Birds of Prey, seems to have confirmed that Harley Quinn will be coming to the game sometime soon. Given the context of the tweet, it's likely that this will be part of a Birds of Prey crossover with Fortnite.

Fortnite's tweet simply said "See you soon Harley!," but it was enough to kick the internet's perpetual speculating into high gear. Considering that Birds of Prey will be released on February 7th, only two weeks away on the day of writing this, the Fortnite Twitter account didn't seem to be exaggerating when it said that Harley would be coming "soon."

Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn follows the titular character, in addition to a variety of other female characters from the DC Universe, as they save Cassandra Cain from the Gotham crime lord Black Mask. If Fortnite developer Epic Games plans to introduce a temporary game mode alongside this cross-promotional event, as it has sometimes done in the past, it's unknown how exactly the film's plot would translate into gameplay.

Epic Games has also previously worked alongside Disney for a Star Wars event, as well as with DC's rival comic company Marvel (also owned by Disney) for two separate Avengers-themed events. In addition, Fortnite has worked with DC in the past on a Batman-themed crossover, so another event themed around a character originally from the Batman series isn't too unexpected.

Presumably, if the Birds of Prey event works like prior ones, players can almost certainly expect a variety of cosmetic items to be added for a limited time. Any other additions that would potentially come to Fortnite along with the event are unclear and would need confirmation from Epic Games at a later date.

For now though, this seems to be the two-week event that Epic Games teased alongside the release date announcement for Chapter 2 Season 2 of Fortnite. If that's indeed the case, this new crossover would likely be followed shortly by a new season for the game.

Fortnite is currently available.
