The Batman and Fortnite crossover lit the internet on fire with its announcement, in just about every single way imaginable. While some were furious that the Caped Crusader would lower himself to such standards, others were excited to see the DC hero come to the game. How often is it that you see an 80-year-old in Fortnite anyway?

There were tons of different cosmetics added to the game with the crossover, so today we're looking at five of the best additions, along with five of the worst. Let's get right into it.

10 BEST: Catwoman Outfit

Come on, seriously? What did we do to deserve such a godsend? The Catwoman outfit allows you to be the anti-hero herself, just with more carpentry skills and pickaxes than her usual self.

This is a great skin that is centered around the comic book version of the character and is available to purchase with V-Bucks. Who wouldn't want to sport this iconic outfit on the battlefield?

9 WORST: Batman Pickaxe

This... this is the best that they could come up with? Sure, Batman isn't known for destroying houses with pickaxes to collect wood, but there had to be something better they could have come up with than a black pickaxe with the Batman symbol slapped on there?

It obviously isn't a bad cosmetic, but there just had to be some sort of inspiration that they could have drawn from the comics that is a little bit better than this.

8 BEST: Dark Knight Costume

There were two different Batman skins that were introduced with the crossover, and one of them is based on the Dark Knight movie costume (the shade of just skipping over Batfleck like that).

This costume is tons of fun and lets you completely destroy Batman's moral code while dressed as a very serious version of him. Why knock someone out when you can just pickaxe someone to death? That's definitely a Batman quote, right?

7 WORST: Loading Screen

Batman Fortnite Crossover Event

Okay, who doesn't love a good loading screen here and there? They are fun to look at while you're looking at your phone waiting for something to happen. However, they simply just aren't up to snuff with everything else that this pack has to offer.

Saying that, if you do have some extra V-Bucks laying around that you're just dying to get rid of, a loading screen isn't a terrible option to spend on. It's just without a doubt the worst choice on this entire list. But for sure follow your heart or something.

6 BEST: Batman Comic Book Costume

The second and final Batman skin introduced with this crossover is a skin based on the comic book version of Batman, rather than the movie costume that the Dark Knight skin provides. This skin is far more toned down than the buff, metal skin that we get from the movies (anyone else think that it's a little self-indulgent that Batman indents his six-pack on some of his costumes?) and instead features the nice plain grey colored suit we all know and love.

Both of the Batman skins are great to look at and stick very close to the source material. It really just comes down to which skin or source you prefer. Either way that you decide to go, make sure that you're doing the Caped Crusader justice by mowing down 99 other people. Just like Batman is so known for doing.

5 WORST: Sprays

Are you seeing a theme here? This is what it comes down to. There are a lot of exciting things in this crossover that are super cool for both Batman and Fortnite fans that are a ton of fun to use in-game (or look at, hey loading screens), and sprays just aren't up there with the best.

These sprays can be earned through the challenges, and feature the Batman symbol along with a Batsy weapon. They're nothing mind-boggling, which is expected. It would have been nice to see other characters represented like Nightwing, Batgirl or Poison Ivy through the sprays, as we only got Batman and Catwoman content through the crossover. Still, we can't be greedy, so these sprays will just have to do.

4 BEST: Gotham City

One of the best parts of the entire crossover is the fact that there's now just a casual Gotham City portion of the map now. Seriously? That is so cool.

While it isn't the full map, it's still a nice treat to be able to run around Gotham City in the middle of a game of Fortnite. And to think, you used to be able to run around a game of Fortnite as Thanos. The times have really changed, haven't they?

3 WORST: Catwing Glider

The Batglider is literally fantastic. It allows you to glide down with the wingspan of Batman himself, looking badass the whole ride down. What more could you really want out of a Fortnite glider? However, the Catwing Glider is pretty underwhelming.

It's fine, just a metallic grey glider with a purple trail. It just doesn't really scream Catwoman in any way, making it kind of a missed opportunity when compared to its Batman counterpart. You know, adding a cattail to the back of it really would have done a lot, just throwing that out there.

2 BEST: Caped Crusader Music

Who doesn't love a bit of music to go with their crusading? The Caped Crusader music is just that, a nice piece of Batman music to go along with your battle.

This still isn't as huge as some of the other additions that were made to the game through this update, but it took crossover content in a fun and unexpected way, which is a nice thing to see.

1 WORST: Bat-Signal

Of course, the Bat-Signal is an ever-important part of Batman lore that should have been included in this update, but it just could have been implemented in a more interesting way. It's just not as important as one would hope it would be.

While it is nice to see and interact with in-game, it just could have been implemented in a more exciting way, which makes this a bit of a missed opportunity.
