Epic Games has released several new patches for Fortnite Battle Royale over the past few weeks, including a patch that introduced the Cozy Campfire healing item. But fans of the popular battle royale mode are now saying that the arrival of the item has a major bug.

According to a gameplay clip posted on Reddit by one Fortnite player, if players use the Cozy Campfire item during the pre-game lobby, the game will think that they have a full-shield equipped when they get into the actual match. This means that when players do get into the game, they are unable to equip any shields that they find.

Because the full-shield given to players by the bug isn't actually a shield at all (it's just a glitch), it is also unable to absorb any damage. Those affected by the bug will therefore only have 100 HP for the duration of the match, putting them at a major disadvantage compared to their opponents.

This is not the only major bug to be affecting the game right now, nor is it the only glitch that stems testing items in the pre-game lobby. Players are also reporting that when they test the Launch Pad in the lobby, when they land on the map they find that they don't have a pickaxe. Although players do find the lobby useful for testing new items, it seems that doing so may make the actual match itself a lot harder.

Additionally, Epic Games is also having to deal with a collision glitch in the new Junk Junction area. The bug allows players to use a crane as a hiding spot, using the lack of collision physics to their advantage. Epic has already apologized for that particular bug and has vowed to fix it in the game's next update.

To its credit, Epic Games is generally quite good about issuing patches and fixes and new updates tend to be rolled out every week. With the new map update significantly shaking things up, the developer has continued to be on the ball. So with this in mind, fans will be upset if fixes for the Cozy Campfire (and Launch Pad) issues are not rolled out soon.

The bugs can spoil the fun for those just wanting to mess around in the lobby and those who don't know about the bugs are also unable to avoid it by not using those items. Hopefully, Epic Games will address the situation soon.

Fortnite Battle Royale is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
