Since it released in early access earlier this year, Epic Games has made sure to support Fortnite by releasing updates on a regular basis. The latest update for Fortnite is for its Battle Royale mode, as it adds a brand new weapon called the Boogie Bomb that players can use to make their enemies dance uncontrollably.

Fortnite players are usually able to dance as a means to interact with their teammates or taunt other players. The dancing animation essentially renders players helpless to defend themselves, so forcing them to dance can cause some obvious issues for anyone trying to survive in the game's massive online battles.

With the release of the Boogie Bomb, Epic Games and People Can Fly have shown a willingness to add more outlandish weapons to Fortnite's arsenal when it comes to its Battle Royale mode. If fans respond positively to the Boogie Bomb, hopefully we see more creative weapons make their way to the game in future updates.

In the meantime, the Boogie Bomb and some other recent Fortnite updates should keep players engaged with the popular game into the new year. Other recent updates include Fortnite's holiday event, which also introduced a new hero and questline for those still playing the game's PvE game mode.

In 2018, fans should be able to expect more frequent updates for Fortnite as we near its full launch next year. As far as future updates go, it's possible that cross-play between PC and Xbox One will be added back to the game, and if it hopes to continue competing with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, a new map for Battle Royale mode is likely in the cards as well.

While fans wait for more information on future updates for Fortnite, the game's latest additions, like the Boogie Bomb, should keep them plenty busy until it sees its full release in 2018.

Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will have its full launch at some point in 2018.
