Throughout its lifespan, Epic Games' battle royale Fortnite has amassed quite an impressive collection of in-game cosmetics and other purchasable items. Of course, like many free-to-play games, the V-Bucks purchased with real-world money can be exchanged for cosmetics in the game's Item Shop, but they are not capable of giving players any sort of competitive advantages, even though fans argue some more obscure instances of this have occurred.

Fortnite offers fans quite the range of purchasable in-game items, including skins, emotes, weapon wraps, and more, which all rotate through the Item Shop each day. The shop, however, lives alongside Fortnite's Battle Pass, which players can purchase with V-Bucks to gain access to unlockable tiers of rewards while they level-up throughout the season. However, it seems that one glitch involving a Battle Pass item in the Item Shop surfaced yesterday.

Along with yesterday's newest Item Shop update at 5 PM PST, fans noticed that the "Wild" Lobby Track, music which players can listen to in the game's menu screens, was purchasable in the shop despite being included as an unlockable reward in Fortnite's Season 6 Battle Pass. While fans were initially disappointed with this occurrence, Epic Games was quick to fix the glitch, even making an official statement on Twitter.

The official Fortnite service-update account on Twitter clarified that the "Wild" Lobby Track appearing in the Item Shop was indeed a mistake, and that it would be quickly removed from the Item Shop. Additionally, FortniteStatus tweeted that any players who purchased the Lobby Track from the Item Shop would have it removed from their collection of items and would subsequently be refunded the 200 V-Bucks they paid for it. While this was a mistake, Epic Games has gone on record promising fans that they will never sell items in the Item Shop that can also be obtained in the Battle Pass, so many fans were understandably put off by the situation at first.

With so many items and cosmetics to keep track of, it's not hard to see how a Battle Pass music track might slip under the radar of some and accidentally make its way to the Item Shop. While this instance was a mistake, Fortnite has come under fire for some more questionable additions to the Item Shop in the past, such as adding a skin very similar to the Chapter 1 Season 5 Battle Pass Skin Drift to the shop, as well as a pet dog that looked almost identical to one in the Chapter 1 Season 6 Battle Pass.

Fans can drop into Fortnite and enjoy Chapter 2 Season 6 now, along with new Primal and Mechanical Weapon Crafting, wildlife to be tamed and/or hunted, and brand new POI's scattered across the map. The Season 6 Battle Pass also features two new crossovers for the game, introducing Tomb Raider's Lara Croft as well as Raven from Teen Titans.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
