Fortnite has finally released its floor is lava mode with the 8.20 patch, and with it come a new slew of challenges for players to survive. With deadly lava all around, making it through and coming out on top might require a little help in the form of consumables, which is where the game's latest additions, bananas, coconuts, and peppers come in.

These three consumable items have been added to Fortnite with the latest update. Each of these items can be found scattered across the map, and can be immediately eaten for a benefit. Picking up these drops may provide the player with a boost, but some may be inaccessible once Fortnite's volcano lava begins to rise. Each match should allow for a few minutes of gathering before the lava starts to pose a threat.

Where to Find Fortnite's Consumables

Coconuts recover five points of health over a brief duration of time. If the player's health is full, consuming a coconut restores the player's shield instead for the same five points. Coconuts can be found in both tropical and desert areas, at the northeast and southeast corners of the map, respectively. Anywhere with palm trees is a good place to hunt, as coconuts spawn from destroying Palm Trees, but coconuts aren't guaranteed to drop, so keep hitting trees until one appears.

Bananas restore five health instantly. Bananas are located exclusively in the tropical area, in the northeast, near the base of Fortnite's season 8 volcano. These consumables can be found by destroying short, leafy trees in the area and can also sometimes be found on the ground on the grassy patches the trees grow on.

Peppers instantly restore five health, and provide a 20% boost to speed for ten seconds. Peppers only appear in the southeastern desert portion of the map. Unlike bananas and coconuts, peppers are primarily found on the ground, near Paradise Palms.

Fortnite's latest limited time mode will push players to rush to high ground and potentially end up in more skirmishes earlier on as a result. With just half of Season 8 left, players should have plenty to keep them occupied until Fortnite's next major Season update.

Fortnite is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
