The Fortnite x Avengers Endgame crossover event has finally been made available in the wildly popular battle royale game, but it works a little different this time around. Unlike the Infinity War crossover event, this mode will sees two teams face off, with one team playing as Thanos and the Chitauri Army and the other as the Avengers wielding Captain America's Shield, Thor's Stormbreaker, Iron Man's Repulsors, and Hawkeye's Bow.

How Fortnite's Endgame Mode Works

Each team has opposing goals. Thanos' team is hunting all six Infinity Stones, and the Hero Team is attempting to stop Thanos and his Chitauri Army. Both sides will also respawn until the other side completes their objective, and while Thanos' team will need to hunt down the Infinity Stones, the Hero Team gets a Fortnite treasure map that leads directly to the Mythic Avengers items.

The Chitauri will spawn with a laser rifle, an anti-structure grenade, and a backpack, though, and the first Chitauri to find an Infinity Stone will be transformed into Thanos, who has a powerful punch, beam attack, and jump ability. Each time a Fortnite player finds an Infinity Stone, Thanos gets stronger and the Chitauri gain more health.

If Thanos happens to be eliminated, another Chitauri will turn into the Mad Titan after a short wait. Once all Infinity stones are found, heroes will no longer be able to respawn. It's worth mentioning that this Fortnite LTM seems stacked against the heroes, as seen in the Infinity Stone buffs below, but the abilities of the Mythic Items have not been fully explored at the time of this writing, meaning they could be as powerful as the OP Infinity Blade once was.

  • Reality Stone (Red) = Heath & Shields doubled (1000->2000)
  • Soul Stone (Orange) = Siphon activated (grants Thanos shields only)
  • Mind Stone (Yellow) = Jump height doubled
  • Space Stone (Blue) = Ground Pound AOE size tripled, damage x6
  • Time Stone (Green) = Big knockback added to each hit, damage x3
  • Power Stone (Purple) = Laser damage x6

Fortnite and Avenger fans will likely appreciate this Avengers Endgame Limited-Time Mode nonetheless, and hopefully, no one spoils the movie while playing it. In other words, be careful out there as some have already seen it due to a staggered release schedule. Avengers: Endgame is in US theaters on April 26, 2019.

Fortnite is out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
