As many Fortnite fans will likely attest, the Thermal Assault Rifle is far from everyone's first pick when it comes to finding weapons and loot in the game's free-to-play Battle Royale mode, especially with Legendary Pump Shotguns having been added not too long ago. However, one player recently discovered a trick that could cause fans to give the Thermal AR another chance, as there's currently an exploit that gives the gun perfect accuracy.

As seen in the post below by the Redditor and Fortnite fan known as Kearshi, they offer up a demonstration as to just how incredibly accurate the Thermal Assault Rifle can be by using a quick-scoping aim instead of fully scoping in. Of course, all one needs to do thereafter is fire the weapon after quick-scoping, and it should inflict some major pain on an enemy's Shield and HP bar. It must be noted, though, that there ought to be an overall damage output increase the closer one is to their opponent upon firing.

Not only does Kearshi's aim exploit for Fortnite's Thermal Assault Rifle work on grounded enemies, but also the method is effective for airborne targets, too. In order to show how that works, the Redditor shoots down his flying friend by quick-scoping and firing immediately afterwards.

While the Thermal Assault Rifle appears to be a solid choice at mid and long range when using the quick-scope method, it still doesn't look like a solid choice when it comes to close-quarters combat. With this being the case, players may wish to keep a Shotgun or Six Shooter handy in order to remain versatile on the battlefield.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see if this exploit manages to affect Fortnite Battle Royale's meta in any significant way, and whether or not Epic will take notice by pushing out some spec changes for the Thermal AR. At any rate, we will simply have to wait and see what transpires with the game's next update.

Fortnite is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
