Fortnite's alien-invasion-themed season is many weeks in now, and many of the quests have revolved around the aliens that have begun to take over the battle royale island. There have been quests to shoot down the invaders from a UFO, one making players put up cow decoys, and a few others. For this week's batch of Legendary quests in Fortnite, however, players will need to collect an access card from an IO guard.

These IO guards are typically found at the IO bases. Once players drop off the Fortnite Battle Bus, they should have already noticed the facilities with a large glowing red satellite dish. Not only are these locations heavily guarded by the IO staff, but there are also security cameras to keep an eye out for, as these can alert the guards of the player's presence. One of the only reasons for players to head into these bases is the chance to grab the new IO tech weapons, which are very useful, such as the Recon Scanner. This is also how players will collect an access card to complete the quest.

Where to Find IO Guards in Fortnite Season 7

Although the IO guards can be found at the IO bases, there's one other location that makes this quest much easier to complete. Fortnite players can head to the southern barn in Corny Complex and break open the cellar doors to find an underground IO base. If players have weapons already, all they need to do is kill one of the IO guards, and the access card will drop out of him.

The access card will be a small blue-colored object, and players will have to hold the interact button to pick it up. The access card should come out of the first IO guard that players defeat, regardless of how it's done or the guard's location.

Once players collect the access key, the quest will be completed, and the XP will be earned. Now that this quest is over, players can start the next one, which involves planting wiretaps in several different locations. Or, Fortnite fans can search for the latest batch of Alien Artifacts. There are five new ones for Week 8, and these can help players unlock new styles for the Kymera skin.

Fortnite is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
