Fortnite manages to nearly always stay fresh thanks to a near-constant stream of updates and hotfixes, tweaking and adding content to the game. The title's latest hotfix is rolling out today, which not only adds another conflict in the form of the Battle for Rocky Reels, but also unvaults a long-dormant weapon sure to please fans.

Epic Games' ever-popular free-to-play battle royale title is now into its second month of Chapter 3 Season 2. While this season has been full of unexpected surprises, players were shocked last week to find out legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan would be joining Fortnite, with the cosmetics officially going live over the weekend.

Fortnite's latest patch is a hotfix, with its biggest addition being another battle at one of the island's POIs. The Imagined Order, or IO, have laid siege to Rocky Reels, leaving it up to players to help reclaim the location. As with the prior battles, players must take down three waves of IO guards with the Seven Sentry AIs spawning in via Rifts as support. The other major component of the hotfix is the unvaulting of the Light Machine Gun. Not seen since Chapter 2 Season 5, the fan-favorite weapon is now back on the island in all rarities.

Another thing being brought about by the hotfix is the voting period for the latest item vote: the Boogie Bomb versus the Rift-To-Go. Introduced as part of Fortnite's initial 20.20 update, players have had a trial period for the last week with both items, and now must vote to decide which one remains unvaulted. Both items enable players to make an escape from sticky situations, although the Boogie Bomb can work as part of an offensive strategy. As with other item votes, the first to be fully funded with Gold Bars is the winner.

In addition to a new POI battle and a newly unvaulted weapon, Fortnite is also introducing a third Street Fighter pack. World Warriors Blanka and Sakura are the latest from the iconic Capcom franchise to drop onto the island, joining the ranks of their colleagues Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, and Cammy. Both Blanka and Sakura come in multiple skin styles, along with a handful of themed cosmetic accessories. Fortnite is also hosting two different version of the Blanka and Sakura Cup, where the top performers will be rewarded with the humorous Bonus Stage Loading Screen.

While Fortnite's next season isn't expected to start until at least June, content potentially pertaining to Chapter 3 Season 3 has already begun to leak. According to well established Fortnite leaker and dataminer HYPEX, Klombos are expected to return, but with a twist.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
