Ubisoft unveils the launch trailer for the forthcoming medieval melee game For Honor, featuring a ton of intense combat and looks at the game’s three fighting factions.

In preparation for the highly-anticipated bloody battle game For Honor, set to hit PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 14, developer Ubisoft has been slow-drip releasing information and updates to potential fans of the title. Today, Ubisoft released the official For Honor launch trailer — and it packs a serious punch.

The epic cinematic launch trailer for the (what seems to be) brutal game zeroes in on the battle at the center of the story, and shows off tiny glimpses of single-player campaign gameplay and its different multiplayer modes. Players embark on a journey across three factions in a medieval world, claiming castles and lands for their own as they weave through boss battles and close-quarter combat with others, all in efforts to put an end to an unforgiving warlord. For Honor‘s launch trailer promises “pain, glory, fear, hope, struggle, and survival” amongst the Knights, Vikings, and Samurai in the game:

“Carve a path of destruction through the battlefield fighting for guts, glory, and survival… Choose from 12 Heroes among the three legendary factions. Battle in visceral action-combat across five multiplayer modes where you’ll fight to control territory or win epic duels against your friends. In the memorable story mode, storm castles, conquer territories, and defend your people against the wrath of the warlord Apollyon solo or in online co-op… Who will reign supreme?”

An additional For Honor sneak peek was released a few hours prior to the launch trailer, one that dove into the progression and customization features of the game. Also posted on the Ubisoft US YouTube channel, this video detailed the numerous ways to upgrade, progress, and fine-tune battle skills as players move through the game. Many have commented that the progression dynamic present in For Honor is quite similar to that of an RPG. Certain heroes may receive more of your attention (like Knights, which will perhaps be the game’s most popular hero) than others like Conquerors and Peacekeepers, and will bump up through the ranks accordingly. Characters will also receive clothing and weapons that are fully customizable and upgradable. (Talk about keeping the players’ best interest in mind!)

The launch trailer release also follows an exciting For Honor season pass trailer, which detailed character options and an exclusive “Champion Status,” as well as an open beta that will run until February 12. Considering this, it’s little surprise that the upcoming hack-and-slash is gaining a lot of attention — in the gaming world and beyond. Canadian gamers felt the love, too, when Ubisoft announced a For Honor multiplayer battle event for the country that will begin February 11, and even late night talkshow host Conan O’Brien and Super Bowl champion and New Englands Patriots quarterback Tom Brady played For Honor in a recent round of Clueless Gamer.

Given the almost constant purr of expectancy surrounding For Honor, it’s easy to see that the Ubisoft-developed title is hardly a well-kept secret. And by the looks of the launch trailer, it seems as though the minds behind the visceral game got it right, blending a powerful story of medieval combat with player-friendly features like various multiplayer modes and a healthy amount of customization options. Thankfully, the title that is one of the most anticipated games of 2017 will be releasing in just a few short days, so fans can see for themselves if it lives up to expectation.

For Honor will release February 14, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
