Ubisoft shows off a few of the classes in the hack-and-slash game For Honor, by detailing Samurai, Knight, and Viking warriors with three separate trailers.
Ever since For Honor's debut trailer at E3 2015, gaming fans have been clamoring to get as much information on Ubisoft Montreal's forthcoming action hack-and-slash title as possible, but many have had to wait until recently for the studio to begin to eke out more specific details. Thankfully, For Honor's developers have used PAX West 2016 as a platform to promote the release even further by unveiling three brand new trailers for Samurai, Viking, and Knight characters.
For those unaware, these specific Samurai, Vikings, and Knights are just three of twelve different hero classes to be found within the final version of For Honor. That said, it's also important to note that Ubisoft has decided to make these particular characters three of six warriors able to be selected by players during the game's alpha period, which runs through September 15 through September 18. Fans can sign up right here, but since the test is closed, it doesn't necessarily mean one will get selected to try it out.
As seen in For Honor's three trailers below, there's the Kensei from the Samurai faction, the Raider of the Viking set, and the Warden of the Knight group. Each character wields their own unique weapon, with the Kensei handling the nodachi blade, the Raider using a huge battle-ax, and the Warden being the master of the long-sword.

Although all of the aforementioned trailers show off footage from For Honor's multiplayer portions, a lot of fans will be happy to know that the game isn't an exclusive experience of more than one person battling together at the same time. Last year, in fact, Ubisoft Montreal made sure to confirm that the action game will have a single player campaign.
Speaking of which, Ubisoft Montreal has put plenty of thought into the narrative for For Honor's solo mode, as the studio has shown off the drama behind the bloodshed in the game's cinematic trailer. Apparently, Apollyon — an angel from the Book of Revelation — has decided to do all it can to ensure the Samurai, Vikings, and Knights remain in a perpetual state of war.
Should all of these details be enticing to gaming fans, Ubisoft is prepared to offer plenty of variety when it comes to ways that the medieval combat game can be purchased. As it happens, not only will there be a huge Collector's Edition, but also the studio is prepping a Deluxe Edition for $70 and a Gold Edition for $100. Of course, it will be interesting to see if all of the buzz being generated around For Honor ultimately warrants the creation of the special versions of the game once it releases next year.
For Honor is set to release on February 14, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
