Sustainability is something Ubisoft has seemingly mastered with many of its franchises, able to not only release a game but keep its momentum going strong 2-3 years later. Its best example may be Rainbow Six Siege, which, following a slow start, has gained so much momentum that the game is now well into its fourth year of content updates. For Honor is heading in that direction as well, following a well-recieved crossover with Assassin's Creed, the development team is now turning to another Ubisoft franchise to make its way into the game of swords and shields.

A new blog post on the For Honor website reveals that the Raving Rabbids, last seen in a crossover game with Mario and company, have invaded Ubisoft's melee-focused action game for only 24 hours. While it would be more than easy to write this news off as just another April Fools' Day prank, Ubisoft assures fans that it's the real deal. The event kicked off on March 31 at 9pm and runs until April 1 at 9PM PDT.

For those who log in today, normal NPC minions in game modes like Dominion are replaced by the cartoonish Rabbids all decked out in Samurai, Viking, and Knight armor. These characters also brandish melee weapons like plungers and toilet bowl brushes and utter their unique brand of language. In addition to fighting the tiny white rabbit creatures, players will also earn 1 free melee pack just for logging in during this special event. The item will arrive towards the end of the week, housing new gear that players can equip or break down for their heroes.

This surprising and silly event is part of the Year of the Harbinger, For Honor's self-titled third year of content. Like other Ubisoft live service games like Rainbow Six Siege and Ghost Recon Wildlands, For Honor continues to get updates and new content throughout the year including new maps, special events, and hero characters. Earlier this year, the new character called The Black Prior joined the roster, which was then followed by a special in-game event. Ubisoft has promised much more content and updates to come as 2019 rolls forward.

For Honor is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
