Ubisoft has revealed a brand-new hero coming to For Honor. The hero is called Afeera and has many aspects that some of the fans are excited about from the reveal trailer, which also included a confirmed release date for the character.

For Honor was released in February 2017 and was met with overall positive praise from fans and critics. In fact, the game did so well on its launch that in Japan, For Honor debuted as the top-selling video game in its first week of release. However, since then, the player base for the game has decreased drastically. Despite the frequent updates to the game, some fans point out that the constant changes and reworks have harshly affected the longevity of For Honor.

That brings attention to Afeera, the newest For Honor hero. Afeera will be available to players on February 2, and will cost players $7.99 to obtain. The new hero will also arrive along with a free trial week for players to jump into For Honor, which will last until February 9. Afeera will be playable on all platforms; this follows after For Honor added cross-platform play five years after launch.

According to the trailer, Afeera will be an agile and precise hero wielding a mace and shield. Afeera is from Arabia, and some fans are excited about how the character looks like they will play from the reveal trailer. From what the trailer showed, the hero is a very welcome addition for some fans and appears to be capable of some unique and fun combos. With the addition of Afeera and For Honor being available on Xbox Game Pass, Ubisoft is really pushing the game to maintain its player base.

Going into the latest season, For Honor really seems to be adding a lot of content for its player base. Furthermore, with recent rumors of a Dead By Daylight crossover coming to the game, For Honor and its player base may grow significantly. Some fans say it's clear that Ubisoft is listening to its fan base, as they have been saying that the game has needed a Mace Hero since the game launched, and it has finally addressed that.

While For Honor has fantastic heroes, gameplay, and events, such as its Halloween event, with the game now over 7 years old and having a pretty steep learning curve, some fans think something bigger than just heroes and updates needs to happen to the IP. For example, some fans think a next-generation edition of the game will be the perfect thing to not only bring in new players but also bring back old ones.

For Honor is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
