Football Manager 22 was released in November 2021 on PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, keeping its core features very similar to previous iterations of the games. Although Sports Interactive has found a winning formula with their Football Manager series, the tantalizing prospect of mods is often too good to turn down.
As one would expect in a game with such a wide range of features, Football Manager 22 has a vibrant modding community that covers everything from training schedules to tactics to name fixes and much, much more.

There are many ways to spice up a new playthrough, such as by picking struggling teams, taking on fan challenges, or installing FM22 mods. To give players more options for mods to install, this list has been updated to include some more excellent Football Manager 22 mods. A guide on how to install FM22 mods is also included as a reference.
How To Install Mods On Football Manager 22
The majority of mods mentioned in this article are from Steam. To install Steam mods in Football Manager 22, go to Main Menu > More > Downloads > Steam. This screen lets players easily install mods that they have subscribed to in Steam's Workshop.
For the mods that aren't from Steam, links have been added to each entry that will direct people to the mod's download page. On each page, there will be full instructions on how to install the mod.

The mod will put over 400 players into the manager's shortlist, giving them more than enough options to build a foundation of young talent.

From one FMInside mod to another, FMI Media Pack is great for those who are tired of seeing the same small handful of websites, pundits, and newspapers popping up on their newsfeed. Opta, Sky Sports, BBC, and many other big names in the world of sport will be added to the game when the mod is installed, offering better variety and increasing player immersion.
8 Championship Manager 2003-04 Database (FM22)
Prior to the Football Manager series' first release in November 2004, Sports Interactive developed the Championship Manager franchise. Championship Manager: Season 03/04 was one of the series' most popular releases, not only for the game's quality itself but also for how stacked with talent the database was.

7 FM22 Attacking Corner Near Post
Set piece strategies are something that many new managers overlook in the game. Most new managers assume that the default routine will be fine and just leave it how it is - though this is a huge mistake as the routine likely won't suit the team's players, and opposition clubs will soon learn the setup, making it easy for them to defend and score against.
Suffice to say, those who don't want to create their own routines should look into mods. One great routine is FM22 Attacking Corner Near Post by BlindedbyDazzle, which has both a left and right-sided version. Near-post routines are extremely effective in Football Manager 22, and center-backs can reach double-digit goal tallies with BlindedbyDazzle's setup.
6 FME - Zealand by FMEnhanced
One aspect of the Football Manager series that is often divisive is the presentation, as even the slightest alterations between entries will spark debates and disagreements between those who will comfortably sink over 100 hours into the game.
Although Sports Interactive has done a great job of fine-tuning its layout over the years, FME - Zealand by FMEnhanced provides a fantastic alternative. The skin does a great job of cramming a ton of key information into each screen without ever looking congested or over-populated. The best skin is, of course, down to personal opinion - though it's hard to look past FME - Zealand by FMEnhanced.
5 SE7EN's KLOPPDIOLA 4-3-3 POSITIVE
SE7EN's KLOPPDIOLA 4-3-3 POSITIVE is a fantastic tactic for managers that want a high-tempo, attacking, possession-based style of play, as it combines the ideologies of two of the world's best managers: Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and Liverpool's Jürgen Klopp.
There are numerous tactical mods available to download for Football Manager 22, which can make it tough to pick one from the crowd. However, SE7EN's KLOPPDIOLA 4-3-3 POSITIVE stands out as the creator has released similar tactics in the previous two FM games - receiving over 50,000 subscribers for each.
4 5-2-3 Gasperini Attacking Structured
Another great tactical mod is 5-2-3 Gasperini Attacking Structured from KEISO, a strategy based on the work of Italian manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who is currently playing exciting attacking football with Atalanta B.C.
The tactic is designed to make the team dangerous in the wide areas of the pitch, as the two Complete Wing Backs (Attack) frequently make themselves available to get crosses into the box, while the two Inside Forwards tuck inside to the half-spaces - collectively forming a front five with the striker and wing backs when attacking.
To make the tactic work, it's essential to have wing-backs with exceptional fitness levels, as they will essentially be playing as both full-backs and wingers simultaneously. It's also worth having two solid options for both wing-back positions, as fatigue and injuries will almost certainly occur during the latter half of the season.
3 iOS'22 Facepack (Megapack ver 4.2)
The Football Manager series has been considered among the best management franchises since its inception. However, the series does have some glaring issues, particularly its lack of licensing. Real competition names, club logos, kits, stadiums, and more are replaced with generic placeholders.
Player-likeness is also hard to come by in Football Manager 22, as although some players have a real photo, most just have a blank outline. Seagull17's iOS'22 Facepack (Megapack ver 4.2) solves this problem by implementing over 12,000 player faces across a wide range of leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.
2 Club & Competition Name Fixes
Following on from the previous entry, 11josh08's Club & Competition Name Fixes solves another licensing issue. The mod does exactly what it says on the tin, implementing real competition names like the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League.
Club names have also been altered, something that has become a bigger issue in Football Manager 22 than before. Manchester United recently joined Italian club Juventus in taking issue with their real name being used in the management series and have subsequently been renamed to Man UFC, which makes it sound like the English side has started its own fight club.
1 FM Scout Editor 2022
One aspect of the Football Manager series that many players value over other modern sports games like FIFA and NBA 2K is the lack of microtransactions.
However, Football Manager 22 does have one microtransaction, and, to be fair, it's about as "pay-to-win" as it gets. The Football Manager 2022 In-game Editor lives up to its name by letting players edit a whole manner of things, from players ratings to the club's transfer budget to contract details. FM Scout Editor 2022 from thanoulas is an alternative to the official editor, and its grand price of free makes it a perfect solution for those not wanting to invest further in the game.
