Football Manager is a series that got started way back in 2005 and is still going strong. As a smaller but very much beloved competitor to FIFA, Football Manager is one of the better soccer series out there. And now, after having been around for over 15 years, the series has hit a major sales milestone.

Football Manager continues to go strong, as Football Manager 21 released late last year. With each new iteration comes of course player updates, new features, and more. But also each new game adds to the sales ticker of the entire series, and the total sales for the Football Manager series has now reached over 33 million.

Miles Jacobson is the Director/Executive Producer of Football Manager. He recently tweeted out an image and post celebrating something quite exciting for him and his team. According to his tweet, Football Manager has now sold 33 and a third million copies as a series. That is definitely something to be very proud of. As far as which Football Manager title has contributed most to the success, that is not known based on the information Jacobson provided. The series has slowly grown in popularity and sales success over time. According to most charts, each game does slightly better than the prior release.

The post celebrating the accomplishment also comes with a pun, as Jacobson celebrates the sales record on a literal record. There are some very funny Football Manager memes already out there, and it's something fans are likely happy about.

Interestingly, Jacobson is also the same member of the Football Manager team that made comments about soccer/football players attempting to bribe him to receive better ratings in Football Manager. He says that he always denied said requests when they came in from players and agents. The only way to get better in-game is to be better on the pitch.

FIFA has had a stranglehold on the soccer/football simulator for quite some time, but games like Football Manager tend to speak to a niche audience. The key to the success may have to do with the word "manager" in the title. The game series focuses on developing and managing a team on a very deep level, arguably more than any other game for quite some time. Most games were playing catch up while Football Manager continued to add new features. When competing when big-name behemoths, it is important to find a lane and be great at it.
