The immense success and popularity of Five Nights At Freddy's has brought many bi-products, such as plushies, figures, books, and especially spin-off games created by fans of the titular horror game series. Five Nights At Freddy's fan games have become some of the most communally beloved spin-offs of any game series, with the sheer amount of time, creativity, and effort going into them charming and impressing many audiences.

Some of these fan games were released as early as the very first Five Nights At Freddy's, and others boast such daunting story mechanics and graphics that haven't come out yet. All it takes is an intriguing concept and horrifying recreations of the classic animatronics (or, even better, entirely new animatronics and characters) to generate itching excitement for one of these fan games based around the characters or gameplay style of Five Nights At Freddy's.

10 One Night At Flumpty's

One-Night-at-Flumptys, Grunkfuss the Clown

One Night At Flumpty's (developed by Jonochrome) is a cartoony take on the gameplay style of Five Nights At Freddy's. Unlike the original series, One Night At Flumpty's—true to its name—only takes place over the course of one night. The catch? It gets progressively harder and harder for the player to survive as the night marches on.

The player must survive until 6:00 AM by avoiding Flumpty Bumpty and his friends, such as Birthday Boy Blam and Grunkfuss The Clown. In true Five Nights At Freddy's fashion, if the player doesn't manage to ward off the menacing cartoon characters, they're met with a nasty jumpscare.

9 POPGOES

POPGOES is definitely a must-play for those who enjoy the dizzying panic of managing multiple tasks at once in order to stay alive and survive until the end of the night. This point-and-click indie horror game developed by Kane Carter only takes the events from the first three Five Nights At Freddy's games into account when creating its lore.

POPGOES takes place a year after the fire that burnt down Fazbear's Fright, taking place in a brand-new successor to the once-popular pizza chain, The Popgoes Pizzeria. The protagonist unsuspectingly assumes the role of the new night guard for the pizzeria only to slowly realize that the mind behind the new establishment and its technology, Fritz, didn't build The Popgoes Pizzeria for the customers or revenue...he built it for himself.

8 Those Nights At Rachel's

From the creator of the immensely horrifying Joy Of Creation and Joy Of Creation: Reborn, Nikson also developed the charming and unsettling Those Nights At Rachel's. Similar to the original Five Nights At Freddy's, Those Nights At Rachel's challenges players to monitor eerie animatronics as they wander around and attempt to get into the office where the protagonist dwells.

Those Nights At Rachel's, notably, has an entirely new set of animatronics. Replacing the beloved Freddy Fazbear with the ominously adorable Rachel The Rabbit and her friends, Bane, Doug, Ray, and Pete.

7 Fredbear's Fright

Similar to the plot of Five Nights At Freddy's 3, Fredbear's Fright takes place long after the original chain of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria closed down. In honor of the pizzeria's dark history, a new horror attraction begins to open its doors for guests to experience the dark history of Fazbear Entertainment. Old locations were stripped for realistic props and old animatronics were brought back to life for the sake of authenticity. Nothing could go wrong, right?

Fredbear's Fright was originally released in 2017 from the creative mind of Garrett McKay. The game has received a few updates and further teasers since then, adding new characters, secret endings, rare screens, and much more.

6 Five Nights At Candy's

five nights at candys (1)

Five Nights At Candy's is considered one of the classic Five Nights At Freddy's fan games. Initially released a little under a year after the first Five Nights At Freddy's released a shockwave in the gaming industry, Five Nights At Candy's tells the story of a brand-new pizzeria that took the place of Freddy Fazbear's after the franchise's tragic shutdown.

Developed by Emil "Ace" Macko, Five Nights At Candy's doesn't just stop at its initial release. There are currently two sequels (with a third in the works) to the game, as well as a remastered version of the original Five Nights At Candy's.

5 Aftonbuilt

aftonbuilt (1)

Aftonbuilt (developed by JeliLiam) is a refreshingly dark take on the events that befall the blaze that destroyed Fazbear's Fright in Five Nights At Freddy's 3. The player will assume the role of a protagonist simply referred to as "The Mechanic," who ominously teams up with the now-deceased founder of the infamous pizzeria franchise, William Afton, to build him a new animatronic body, so he can walk amongst the living once again.

The gameplay of Aftonbuilt is what sets it apart from most Five Nights At Freddy's fan games. Instead of closing doors and simply avoiding or warding off animatronics, players have the ability to fight back and trap the menacing animatronics in Aftonbuilt.

4 Joy Of Creation: Story Mode

joy of creation story mode (1)

The Joy Of Creation fan games are a dark, fourth-wall-breaking take on the creation of Five Nights At Freddy's itself. Joy Of Creation: Story Mode, specifically, puts players in the shoes of Scott Cawthon and his family as they celebrate the second anniversary of the first Five Nights At Freddy's.

Except it isn't the success of the beloved horror game that's knocking at their door on its anniversary, it's the scorched animatronics from the titular series themselves. The player must try and keep the Cawthon family alive as they survive the night and unveil secrets lying around their own home. Secrets that would detail the chain of events that led to the cancellation of the next game in the Five Nights At Freddy's series.

3 JOLLY

jollibee's (1)

JOLLY might look a bit familiar to players who are familiar with the real-life restaurant, Jollibee's. Prior to JOLLY, this series of Five Nights At Freddy's fan games were respectively called Jollibee's: Phase 1, 2, and 3. Unfortunately, the similarities to the real-life restaurant proved a bit too close for comfort, as the original games had to be taken down due to copyright infringement.

IvanG, the developer of the fan games, saw how well-received the initial games were, and thus created JOLLY. The game plays in the same classic Five Nights At Freddy's format, but with the addition of a generator to charge the power in the building, as well as an elevator that the player can control. So far, there are three terrifying installments in the JOLLY series, with a fourth on the way.

2 Five Nights At Treasure Island

five nights at treasure island (1)

This game is a must-play for any fans of the Creepypasta Abandoned By Disney (written by Slimebeast). Five Nights At Treasure Island is an official reboot by the Radiance Team of one of the first-ever Five Nights At Freddy's fan games, created originally by AnArt1996.

Five Nights At Treasure Island follows a university student, Jake Smith, in his new recruitment to the Supernatural Studies Association. Weirdly enough, his first task is to watch over the abandoned resort, Disney's Treasure Island, and collect data on any supernatural happenings there. The protagonist (and player) are in for a nasty surprise when they come to realize they're far from alone at this abandoned resort.

1 Jr's

jr's (1)

Jr's bares a strikingly similar style to that of Battington's Five Nights At Freddy's VHS Tapes. This creepily vintage style is meant to simulate what the original four animatronics would've looked like if their designs were true to the eighties timeline they're set in. These insanely high-quality designs and graphics have chilled player's just by looking at them, making Jr's a sure-to-be hit in the community of fan games for Five Nights At Freddy's.

Although Jr's hasn't been released yet, its graphics and concept have generated more hype than some fully polished and released fan games. Instead of the regular point-and-click horror game format, Jr's calls itself an "all-around investigation type game," where different vintage animatronics will become possessed each night—and the player must find clues to weed out which animatronics are haunted, and which are not.
