A good desk is key for a variety of reasons, whether it be for personal use, for work, or for a gaming setup, and there are a lot of factors to consider in this purchase. How sturdy a desk is, how much it can support on its desktop, how it helps manage wires found with mice, keyboards, and more, and how it enables or hinders a workflow are all key factors. For something that excels in all of this, consumers can't go wrong with Flexispot's Comhar Pro Standing Desk Q8, if they can afford it. At $799.99, this desk asks a lot from its users but gives plenty back in return.

From the get-go, the Flexispot Comhar Pro offers consumers a very streamlined assembly process. With its sturdy tabletop, adjusting legs, embedded drawer, and cable management system beneath the desktop, it could be assumed that this desk is a nightmare to put together, an idea worsened by the fact that it comes in two boxes. On the contrary, though, it has one of the simplest assembly processes of any gaming desk we've used or any general office supply for that matter. The result is an easy-to-put-together and steady desk that, once assembled, is quite hefty. Moving it around isn't necessarily the simplest task, but because of that sturdiness, users can rely on it to support whatever it is they need once in place.

One of the first things many users will notice is the sheer versatility of the bamboo desktop, which isn't something someone may expect out of a simple tabletop. It genuinely feels good to work on, and if someone were to make a mess or a scuff on it, it cleans very easily. There is a built-in wireless charger for mobile devices that makes the process incredibly convenient, and the USB ports are much handier than one would assume. It makes charging multiple items pain-free, while ensuring the user has plenty of room to work, to play video games, or whatever they need from the desk. The wide desktop enables workflow, ensures that users have everything at hand, and overall makes an office feel relatively cozy.

Furthermore, the embedded tray and under-desk cable management set-up are valuable additions that most users won't notice unless they need them. It creates a nice sense of being there when needed, without being annoying in function or aesthetic. Even when putting a little wear or tear on it, the tray has to be intentionally opened and, during our time with it, never slowly opened over time like some. It never got hung up either, regardless of how we filled it and played around with it. This is no doubt due to its construction, which always makes the tray feel stiff, but in a good way. The same can be said for the under-desk cable management. Whereas some cable management systems basically ensure users notice the wires, however little they want, they are hidden effectively. It adds great functionality that doesn't take away from the general aesthetic.

That cannot be said about the metal legs and desktop support, though. When used in a sitting position, the paint on the metal can easily chip if an office or gaming chair rubs up against it, but it's a minor detail that many would never notice. However, it does mean that those who prefer to be closer either have to have the sitting position slightly higher than perhaps they'd like or accept a little wear on the metal. While this could mean a few minor aesthetic qualms, the fact is that this metal setup is key to its functionality, which is top-notch.

After all, it is a standing desk, and the most notable part is how easily it transitions. Lifting or lowering the desk is incredibly precise and makes little noise, even when automated. Users are able to use a numeric system to automatically have the desk transition from their preferred standing height or sitting height, without worrying about stutters, general damage, shaking, or having to wait while holding a button the entire time. This makes stepping out for a quick coffee or adjusting it from one position to the other during a break much more efficient.

Someone who constantly needs to shuffle between the two throughout their workday is likely to benefit from this system the most. There are plenty of health benefits to using a standing desk, while some work is best done from a seated position. Whether shuffling from meetings to presentations or heavy work days to a relaxing gaming station, this desk shines through in a variety of situations.

Overall, the Flexispot Comhar Pro Standing Desk Q8 is quite the investment though. It may not be the best investment for someone strictly looking for a sitting desk or a standing desk, while its high price point may serve as a barrier to entry for many folks. That said, for those who can afford it, the desk cannot be challenged in its functionality and efficiency.
