The upcoming The Flash movie received a new teaser from director Andy Muschietti in the form of a Batman logo with the Flash's emblem spray-painted onto the suit. The director has been teasing the film for quite some time, and the other suits previously revealed include Michael Keaton's original Batman suit and even Sasha Calle's Supergirl outfit.

The director appears to be having fun dropping little bread crumbs for fans to pick up and use as they wish. Fans have been speculating nonstop about the plot since The Flash's introduction into the DCEU world. Many are excited for this new take on the popular DC Comics red speedster and would like to see The Flash 'fix' the DC Extended Universe timeline, which is the universe of the recent live-action films that follow fan-favorite DC superheroes.

The upcoming Flash movie is heavily rumored to be based on the Flashpoint story, in which Barry Allen goes back in time to save his mother from being murdered during his childhood and prevent his father from being falsely imprisoned. In doing so, this 'small event' is what causes a large number of changes in the DC universe, which Bary struggles to deal with as he attempts to go back and restore the timeline. Many fans suspect the storyline can serve as a means to explain the many casting changes (ex. Ben Affleck retiring as Batman) and course corrections for the struggling DCEU.

Keep in mind nothing has been confirmed and fans have yet to see a trailer for The Flash, so take this all with a grain of salt. However, with the recent confirmation of Keaton returning to the role of Batman, there aren't too many explanations for how his Caped Crusader can co-exist with Affleck's version. It then becomes easy for fans to assume that the timeline or universes will get mixed up somehow.

For fans, it's very interesting to see Marvel and DC tackle similar concepts around the same time. During the year of Batman v Superman's release, Marvel Studios released Captain America: Civil War and Daredevil season 2. The year in which fans watched Batman and Superman trade hands also saw Captain America and Iron Man cause a civil war between the Avengers while Daredevil and The Punisher were fighting over their crime-fighting approaches.

Now Marvel and DC are both tackling the multiverse concept in the upcoming Flash film and in the Spider-Man: No Way Home film, the latter of which is bringing back Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus from 2004's Spider-Man 2. Fans are in for a treat from both properties, and it's really cool to see both sides tackling this complicated concept of time travel and multiple realities or worlds.

The Flash is slated for a November 4th, 2022, theatrical release.
