Sony is continuing its support of the PlayStation VR headset, today revealing two new bundles for PlayStation 4 owners who have yet to buy in. Neither bundle is discounted compared to previous PS VR packages, but both come packaged with two new games each. The first will retail for $299 while the second, which includes a pair of PlayStation Move controllers, will retail for $349. They launch May 31 and May 28 respectively.

The first bundle is characterized by the two games bundled into the package. The first is horror spin-off from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, Help Wanted. The second is Trover Saves the Universe, made by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland as a followup to the highly-rated VR game Accounting. This bundle could be considered for more dedicated or "core" PS4 players.

Bundle number two is built around its inclusion of the PlayStation Move controllers. The two games included in this PS VR package are Blood & Truth and Everybody's Golf  VR. Blood & Truth is a PS4 exclusive made by Sony's London studio. It's an FPS cover shooter, filled with heists and blockbuster movie-style action. Everybody's Golf VR is a more arcade-style physics-based golf experience and typically includes miniature golf and other modes.

Other currently available PS VR bundles include a package with both Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Moss that doesn't include controllers, as well as a Creed: Rise to Glory and Superhot bundle that does include controllers. It's unclear if the new Fight Nights at Freddy's and Blood & Truth bundles will replace the previous ones, but it seems likely.

Sony's support of PS VR continues unabated, despite the growth of the virtual reality medium remaining slower than some expected or wanted. The virtual reality headset for the PS4 remains one of the easiest ways to experience three-dimensional experience at home, providing a huge quality improvement over cell phone virtual reality technology. And while the price of the headset may not be shrinking, the PS4's game library continues to grow more and more impressive.

That said, it's important to note the upcoming generational transition for PlayStation. The PlayStation 5 is rumored to be announced within the next year and released as soon as late 2020. Alongside that speculation is the rumor of a second generation PS VR headset with improved technology, taking advantage of the PS5's much-improved hardware. While PS VR remains an excellent product with an array of exciting games, potential buyers should also ask whether it's worth waiting for another one-two  years for a discount or improved hardware.

Sony's Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted PS VR headset bundle launches May 31 for $299. The Blood & Truth PS VR bundle releases on May 28 for $349.
