The recent release of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach has been a long awaited return from the indie juggernaut, that promised a much larger experience from previous titles. In addition to the longer playtime of Security Breach, the funding provided to Steel Wool Studios was expected to bring out some of the best visuals in the series, from new character models to animations.

As has now been discovered by a dataminer who has dug through Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach's files, it appears that there were some additional features intended to show off some of Steel Wool Studios' new character models. At the moment, this feature doesn't appear to be implemented in the game in any way, though it may either be locked behind a set of milestones the community has yet to unlock or it could be planned for a future update.

Originally posted to Reddit by user BonIsBon, the feature is a map for a character gallery that would have let the player get an in-depth look at the different models used throughout the game. This includes models for Security Breach's animatronics like Sundrop, as well as the human characters like the security guard Vanessa and the player character Gregory. However, while the data for this map is within the files of the game, no one else in the community has apparently found a way to access the gallery through the in-game tools.

What is most interesting about this cut gallery is that even though the feature has been removed from the game, it does appear to have sample poses for most models when viewed in this mode. Normally, players might expect to see the models in either an A or T-pose when viewed through an unfinished feature like this, but development appears to have gone quite a bit farther. It is also not clear at the time of this writing why the gallery may have been cut, or which of Security Breach's puzzles it was originally hidden behind.

A model viewer also wouldn't be entirely new to the Five Nights at Freddy's series, as previous titles have gone so far as to show the inner workings of character models and the in-universe schematics for some animatronics. These are often a place to hide little easter eggs, or pieces of lore, such as the real reasons for a compartment in Freddy's chest that makes up a huge gameplay feature in Security Breach. As a result, this feature being cut comes off as even more strange when compared to how it had been implemented in previous games in the franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
