Debuting earlier today and bringing with it tons of announcements, the Nintendo Indie World Showcase gave avid fans of independent video games on the Switch tons of new release dates to look forward to. From a port of Among Us landing later today to Super Meat Boy Forever being a timed-exclusive for the console, there was a lot of big surprises during the stream, including the announcement of a bizarre new launch-exclusive brawler called Fisti-Fluffs that's hitting Switch in 2021.

Centering around groups of cats getting into action-packed brawls, the fighting game looks to be a wonderfully over-the-top experience that allows multiple players to duke it out to be crowned the last feline standing. Much like titles such as Gang Beasts and Party Animals, it seems the majority of the combat is physics-based, with players able to fling nearby objects at their foes and send them flying with well-timed attacks.

It seems there are a few different modes to choose from outside of straight brawls as well, with the trailer already highlighting what appears to be a wave-based game type where players fight against AI and a multiplayer mode that sees players tasked with destroying as much furniture as possible. Playable cats can even be customized with novelty costumes and other fun accessories. The trailer for the Nintendo Switch game begins at 2:50 of the clip below.

The game will be playable in local and online co-op, meaning players can enjoy the game with friends at home or over the web when the game hits shelves early next year. Fisti-Fluffs was just one of the fun new titles shown off at the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, with the company also highlighting Tunche, Calico, and Very Very Valet.

Fisti-Fluffs will be available on Nintendo Switch in 2021.
