Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be receiving a new update that brings several changes to the game. The Destiny 2 patch update will provide fixes, upgrades, and the return of several activities, locations, and loot for players to acquire.

According to an update on Bungie's blog, Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be receiving the new patch update on December 8. The Destiny 2 3.0.1 update will be bringing next-generation upgrades to Destiny 2, including improving the resolution, faster load times, cross-generation play, and more. On top of the new upgrades, the update will feature the return of the Iron Banner, hosted by Lord Saladin.

The Iron Banner will be available from December 8 at 9 AM to December 15 at the same time. For new players, the Iron Banner is a limited-time Crucible activity introduced in the first Destiny, along with the expansion Rise of Iron, which starred Lord Saladin himself. In the Iron Banner, players form 6v6 teams that have to capture the most zones on the map to win. The more zones a team holds, the more points they earn, and both teams can take and lose zones quickly.

Bungie says that the Iron Banner will also feature Beyond Light's new Stasis powers for players to use, too. Bungie doesn't go into too much detail on how this will affect gameplay in Iron Banner, though it certainly keeps the Stasis powers in focus for the expansion.

Players will be able to interact with Lord Saladin on the game's hub, the Tower, and acquire Iron Banner bounties from him. If players complete the bounties, then they will gain Iron Banner-themed loot with random rolls. The update will bring back two Destiny 2 first-year weapons, but it doesn't specify which weapons. The Iron Will armor set will also be returning, and it will be updated to accept new combat mods.

Other than that, the Bungie team gives a hearty message for brave new players to get into the competitive spirit when the Iron Banner activity arrives. The update will also bring back the surreal Destiny 2 Prophecy Dungeon and resolve some issues for Destiny 2's New Light system. The update will also fix some bugs in several Beyond Light exotics, such as Icefall Mantle, Mask of Bakris, and Necrotic Grip.

Players can look forward to the return of Iron Banner in Destiny 2: Beyond Light next week on December 8, and the chance to use the Stasis powers against one another.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and on Xbox Series X and Series S.
