A new Legendary Hero is being added to Fire Emblem Heroes, the popular mobile game from Nintendo. The strategy title will be receiving Sigurd: Fated Holy Knight in the form of a new summon banner.

Sigurd originally made an appearance in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War on the Super Famicom in Japan in 1996. North American audiences likely would not have had the opportunity to see Sigurd until that game made its return on Virtual Console on the Wii and Wii U. But the descendant of Baldur and the prince of the Duchy of Chalphy is back in Fire Emblem Heroes.

Sigurd: Fated Holy Knight will appear in Fire Emblem Heroes from April 28 through May 7, along with other 5-star heroes with various abilities. Each of them will have an 8% appearance rate. Sigurd himself is a horse riding and sword-wielding Hero.

Over the past decade or so, the Fire Emblem series has quickly supplanted itself as one of Nintendo's biggest and most popular. Because of the nature of the tactical strategy genre, there are countless characters as well, making a mobile game like Fire Emblem Heroes have a near-endless pool of Heroes to choose from. This is why the game has been able to add characters for such a long time. The same goes for Nintendo's world-popular fighter Super Smash Bros., as a modder recently made it so that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate only has Fire Emblem content in it, because the game has become so filled with characters from the franchise.

Fire Emblem Heroes is available now on Mobile.
