Nintendo's official Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account has released the interim results for its annual Choose Your Legends event.
Fire Emblem Heroes is doing its yearly vote to determine what four units will get special alternate variants. Any fan with a Nintendo account can vote for their favorite Fire Emblem character. This is the fifth annual Choose Your Legends vote. The voting takes place over seven days and fans can vote once each day, and the two most popular men and the two most popular women receive special units with alternate outfits.
Currently, the two leading women are Eirika from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The two men in the lead are Marth from incredibly well selling Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light and Gatekeeper from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
Marianne from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening are taking up third place in the female and male brackets respectively. Which means that, if they can collect more votes, they still have a good chance of taking one of the winning spots. Although, with so many Three Houses characters in the seasonal events, even if they don't win this vote, they'll probably get in eventually.
It's interesting to see Gatekeeper doing so well. The Gatekeeper is a minor, recurring NPC in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Despite that, he's managed to become a fan favorite due to his positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
Of course, some people are unhappy to see meme character The Gatekeeper get in over series protagonist, and most powerful dad, Chrom. Chrom's game, Fire Emblem Awakening, was many people's first game in the series, and means a lot to many fans.
