Fire Emblem: Engage is the newest installment in the Fire Emblem franchise that's set to release on the 20th of January 2023. After the release of the spin-off game, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, earlier this year, Engage is set to be the latest mainline game since Fire Emblem: Three Houses in 2019.

The game takes the players to Elyos, a land that is being threatened by the Fell Dragon. Because of that, the main character, Alear, awakens from a long slumber to defend it with the help of the Emblem Rings – tools that call for heroes from the past, who are iconic characters from previous Fire Emblem titles. Up until recently, only 12 Emblem Rings were known to exist, however, it has now been revealed that a new expansion pass will be released with 2 new Emblem Rings, with one ring granting access to 3 beloved emblems. In the future, there could, perhaps, be more to come.

4 Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd is one of the main characters in 2019's hit Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He is also a main character in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He hails from the Kingdom of Faerghus as the heir prince to the throne and takes on the role of class leader to the Blue Lions in the officer's academy located in Garreg Mach.

Nicknamed by some as the Boar Prince, he is the son of the late King Lambert Blaiddyd that died during the tragedy of Duscur. Dimitri, being the only survivor of the tragedy, holds a lot of guilt and a strong desire to avenge the dead – leading to his fall into insanity after the time skip. With his retainer and loyal friend Dedue, he is a force to be reckoned with. Dimitri is immensely powerful, with his immense strength and mastery of the Lance, especially with his heroes' relic that he inherited from his father, Areadbhar. When guided by professor Byleth, he ends up being a kind King loved by his people, and as one of the most popular Nintendo characters in Japan, his return in Fire Emblem: Engage together with the other Three Houses leaders couldn't make any more sense.

3 Claude von Riegan

Claude von Riegan is a recurring main character in both Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. As the grandson of the leader of the Leicester Alliance, he sees himself as the heir to come and, as such, is positioned as the head of the Golden Deers.

Known among his friends and enemies as a sneaky schemer, he is always up to no good but he has shown how his plans can always get his team out of a bad situation. Despite being promised High status in Fodlan, his secret stems from his origins, specifically his father. While little is explored concerning that in Three Houses, Three Hopes offers a whole new view on his past and character. Being a master of the airs, thanks to his Wyvern, he is also a talented archer, especially when using his legendary bow, called Failnaught. As the King of Almyra, he is able to bring the people of Fodlan and other countries together. He will be an interesting addition to the Fire Emblem: Engage, as no other Emblems solely use a bow.

2 Edelgard von Hresvelg

Edelgard von Hresvelg is a main character and a main antagonist in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. She is the only surviving child of Adrestia's Emperor and takes his spot before the end of the timeskip as the Adrestian Emperor. She also leads the Black Eagles before forming the Black Eagles Strike Force.

Being a very polarizing character in the story, Edelgard is the reason the story starts and why all the troubles follow. All that she does is for her vision of a better world based on meritocracy away from the church and its dogma. Consequently, she has a deep hatred of the crests and the head of the church, Rhea, going as far as to team with Those Who Slither in the Dark to achieve her goal. Leading an entire Empire, Edelgard is one of the game's most powerful units – being one of two known characters to possess two Crests. Those, paired up with a powerful Axe Amyr, make her unstoppable on the battlefield. Together with Dimitri and Calude as a part of one ring, she is a perfect addition to Fire Emblem: Engage with the Expansion Pass as the game lacks a lot in Axe wielders.

1 Tiki

Fire Emblem Engage Tiki

Tiki is a character that goes back to the first Fire Emblem game ever released, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. Following this game, she is seen in the Archanea games and, more recently, in Fire Emblem: Awakening in the main game titles.

Tiki is known as the Voice of Naga, as she is the daughter of the goddess herself and also a part of the Divine Dragon Race. Due to her power, Naga keeps her asleep as all Dragons are bound to lose their minds if they live too long. However, whenever she is awake, she shows her power on the battlefield. She can transform into a Dragon and destroy her enemies easily. In Fire Emblem: Engage, Tiki appears to be a very logical choice for an Expansion Pass character as the game's main character, Alear, is also a Divine Dragon. As such, having the princess of the Divine Dragons join Fire Emblem: Engage with an Expansion Pass was the obvious choice.
