The recent announcement of a new Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Engage, has fans exalted as it is all set to be the new mainline game, as opposed to the recent Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
The game's overarching plot takes place in the land of Elyos, where players will have to fight to defeat a Fell Dragon. The main character will have assistance from heroes from older Fire Emblem titles who can be summoned by using the Emblem Rings. From the very first Fire Emblem title, all the way to Three Houses, a large cast of old heroes will be available for the fans to enjoy.
12 Marth
Marth, the Hero King, is the most noticeable one as he also features on the cover of the game. Marth belongs to the very first Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, released back in 1990. He also made an appearance in Fire Emblem: Mystery of The Emblem and other remakes, and sees him thrown back into the mix here.
11 Sigurd
Sigurd, the Prince of Calphy, first appeared in the legendary Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, as the main lord. He is quite unique in the sense that he was the very first Lord to wield a lance and be a Cavalry, which contrasts the usual sword-wielding Lord type which came before him and will come after him. Sigurd will surely be an incredible addition to Fire Emblem Engage.
10 Lucina
Lucina is an important character that appeared in Fire Emblem: Awakening. As the daughter of Chrom, she travels to the past under the guise of the Hero King Marth to avoid a grim future from happening due to Grima, a Fell Dragon. Just like her father, she wields the Falchion, and holds the brand of the exalt on her left eye, also known as the gift of Naga.
9 Lyn
Lyn, from her full name Lyndis, is the leader of the Lyndis legion and one of the three main characters in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Originating from humble beginnings, Lyn knows little about noble manners and the such, but she is still a polite young woman who takes pride in her Sacae heritage. Fans are sure to enjoy her character in the upcoming Fire Emblem game.
8 Celica
Celica, from her real name of Princess Anthiese, is one of two main characters in Fire Emblem: Gaiden, and its remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. She was born as a Princess to the Zofia Kingdom, with a mark on her right hand. After Desaix set ablaze their home to instigate a coup against the King, Mycen managed to save Celica and take her to safety. She is then raised in a Monastery before setting out on a quest to find Mila.
7 Byleth
Byleth, in this case, male Byleth, is the main character in Fire Emblem: Three Houses who acts as a war instructor at the Garreg Mach Monastery. Having to choose between one of the Three Houses to instruct and help develop, Byleth assists one of the 3 three Lords. He grows and learns more about himself and his connection to the Goddess Sothis. In Fire Emblem Engage fans will surely rejoice to see him again.
6 Corrin
Corrin, in this case, female Corrin, is the main character in the game Fire Emblem: Fates. She starts off as a Princess of the Nohr Kingdom. She is faced with a choice between Hoshido, her supposed blood family, or Nohr, the family she was raised with as the two Kingdoms are at odds. Being able to transform into a Dragon and wielding the Yato, Corrin is a very powerful character who will make her return in Fire Emblem Engage.
5 Chrom
Chrom is the main Lord in Fire Emblem: Awakening and the Prince of Ylisse, as well as the leader of the Shepherds. His story begins after he finds a sleeping Robin, with whom he grows a very close relationship and fights as well. He wields the legendary Falchion, a sword passed down from the Hero King Marth himself. Kind and honorable, Chrom is one of the most well-known Fire Emblem characters.
4 Leif

Leif Faris Claus is the main protagonist in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 and appears in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Before the fall of Leonster, he was the Leonster Prince but soon after, he was forced to flee and go into hiding. In the immediate future, he leads the liberation and becomes King. Being very self-critical, Leif carries a lot of guilt that he overcomes during the game.
3 Eirika
Eirika is the princess of Renais who appears as the protagonist in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Even though she detests violence, she still takes lead in the army and puts an end to the war so as to bring peace. She wields her Thunder Sword, Sieglinde. Eirika is a big contrast to her twin brother, Ephraim, but the two are still very close to each other. She sees herself return as a part of a massive cast in Fire Emblem Engage.
2 Micaiah
Micaiah, also known as the Maiden of Dawn, is one of two main characters in the game Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. She acts as the leader of the Dawn Brigade with her Light Magic wielding possessing a unique ability with the name of Sacrifice. Having had a past in fortune-telling and being branded, she faced a lot of prejudice in her life. Micaiah's fans will thoroughly enjoy the character return in the next Fire Emblem Instalment.
1 Ike
Ike, the Radiant Hero, acts as the leader of the Greil Mercenaries after the death of his father. He appears firstly in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and then acts as one of the main characters in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He is the very first Fire Emblem main character that does not hail from Noble birth. He is blunt, yet easily earns respect from others, and is, thus, loved enough to see himself make way to Fire Emblem Engage.
Fire Emblem Engage will be released on January 20, 2023 on the Nintendo Switch.
