Dragons have always been an important part of Fire Emblem games. The first appearance of a dragon was back in the first Fire Emblem title ever, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light.

Having such a central role in the stories, the franchise has introduced many dragon characters, some of them unique compared to the others, with different powers, abilities, and, more importantly, special stories. Fire Emblem has a ton of powerful dragon characters and some remain to be more memorable than others.

7 Naga

Naga is the Divine Dragon King and the leader of the Divine Dragon tribe. She makes her first appearance in the very first Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and has appearances across many other games. She is the most powerful Divine Dragon and is responsible for the creation of many legendary weapons, most importantly, the Falchions.

To ensure that she doesn’t degenerate, she seals her powers in a Dragon Stone and becomes a Manakete. After that, Naga dies in Thabes and leaves behind her daughter, Tiki, in a deep slumber as she fears that her powers w ould cause her to degenerate. In the remake, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Naga most likely reincarnates into Nagi.

6 Mila and Duma

Mila and Duma are important driving forces for the story of Fire Emblem Gaiden as well as its remake, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Both being from the Divine Dragon Tribe back in Archanea, they were under the service of the most powerful Divine Dragon, Naga. After Duma fought Naga due to his part in the destruction of Thabes, Mila took his side and, together, the two were exiled.

Traveling the seas, they land on the continent of Valentia which they claim as their new home. After a dispute, they divided the land into two parts. As the years pass, both their powers weaken and, sadly, Duma ends up degenerating, leading to him becoming the final boss of the game.

5 Idunn

Idunn is a character from the game Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade where she acts as the final boss that Roy and his team have to defeat. Having refused to join the Scouring at first, she ends up being turned into a Demon Dragon from a Divine Dragon by other dragons, leading her to become a shell of her past self.

After the Scouring is lost and the dragons are turned into Manaketes, she is pitied by Hartmut, and is thus sealed away with the Binding Blade. After her unsealing, she once again becomes a threat to humanity. Only Roy is known to be capable of freeing her from her fate by dealing the final blow to her.

4 Rhea

Rhea is an important character in the game Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As the Archbishop of the Church of Seiros, she holds a lot of power in the continent of Fodlan. While she seems kind and compassionate on the surface, she can be a ruthless person, which can be seen when she plays the role of the final boss in 2 out of the 4 routes in the game.

Rhea belongs to the race of Nabateans, who are the children of the Goddess. Due to that, they possess dragon abilities. They’re able to turn from a human form to a dragon one. Some Nabateans, like Seteth and Flayn, have lost the ability to turn into dragons, but Rhea is still able to do so, even after centuries.

3 Alear

Alear is the most recent addition to the dragon roster. As the main character of the game, Fire Emblem Engage, they were thought to be a Divine Dragon, but later on, it is revealed that they were the child of Sombron, a Fell Dragon, infused with the power of the Divine Dragon Lumiere, making Alear a dragon hybrid.

One thing Alear lacks is the ability to take a draconic appearance, unlike some other dragons in the series, meaning their appearance stays similar to that of a human.

2 Corrin

Corrin is the main character in the game Fire Emblem: Fates. She also makes a comeback in the game Fire Emblem Engage as one of the 12 main Emblem Rings. Born in Hoshido but then kidnapped and raised in Nohr, her fate depends on a major decision that she has to make; stand with either the family she was raised with, or the one that is related to her, or neither.

Corrin, like other royals, carries the blood of the first dragons. While other royals are only able to use dragon veins thanks to their blood, Corrin is special as she’s able to turn into a dragon as well. After Azura gives her a Dragon Stone, she’s able to control her powers without turning feral.

1 Tiki

Tiki, the voice of Naga, is, undoubtedly, the most iconic dragon character in the Fire Emblem franchise. Being introduced in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, she makes many appearances in various titles thereafter. Most recently, she appeared as an Emblem Bracelet in Fire Emblem Engage.

She is the daughter of the Goddess, Naga, and a part of the Divine Dragon race. Tiki is often slumbering to avoid losing her mind as dragons are known to succumb to it if they live long enough.

Fire Emblem Engage is available now for Nintendo Switch.
