Temtem, the new Pokemon-like MMO, bears more than just a few similarities to the Pokemon franchise. One of these similarities is in the rare nature of certain Temtemand if players know where to look, they might just be able to snag themselves a stellar Temtem to begin their new online journey.

Although Temtem possesses a very complex battle system, a whole slew of quests, and plenty to keep players busy, many players will simply not rest until they have their arms around a rare Temtem. It is said that the early bird gets the worm, and for players who are enjoying the early access on Steam for Temtem right now, there are already rare Temtem just waiting to be caught.

Saku

Some say that Temtem's Saku bears a striking resemblance to the Pokemon Bulbasaur. Saku, however, isn't a starting Temtem by any means, and is in fact quite rare. Saku is a small Nature and Wind type Temtem, and possesses a litany of powerful techniques that can drastically impact how players experience the new MMO.

But Saku isn't so easy to find in the wild, and can only be found near the Gifted Bridges, an area that lies along the Route 3 path. As such it is strongly recommended that Temtem players catch themselves a Kaku, and level it up all thirteen times to commence the evolution of Kaku into Saku.

However, it should be noted that similarly to Pokemon, catching a wild Temtem and evolving one will result in a very different creature. If Temtem players evolve Kaku into Saku, the creature will have different traits and techniques. If players should find themselves lucky enough to encounter a Saku at the Gifted Bridges, it will possess both of the Air Specialist and Botanist traits.

If players evolve Kaku into Sake however, the creature will have Caffeinated and Mithridatism as their traits. This can change any given Temtem player's strategy, and add what some might say is a welcome layer of complexity to the game.

Saipat

The adorable Saipat is another Temtem that players will likely want to get their arms around. The creature is notable for its adorable blue clamshell helmet that's tied beneath its chin (beak?) by a string of green seaweed, and for its red sai that it wields like a ninja turtle. Similarly to a ninja turtle, Saipat is a Water and Melee type Temtem, and carries with it a wide range of techniques.

Saipat carries the potential to become one of the best Temtem in a player's arsenal, but finding it in the wild can be very challenging. The best place for Temtem players to look is at the Thalassian Cliffs, but players of the new Pokemon-like MMORPG are claiming that Saipat is one of the most difficult Temtem to find right now.

Other places that Temtem players have had luck include the Windward Fort, Route 2 and Route 3, but even still, the find rate for Saipat is like a needle in a haystack. Either way, Saipat is one of the earliest rare Temtem that can be caught.

Barnshe

Barnshe is known for possessing one of the strongest attacks available to Temtem players early on. Not only that, but Barnshe also comes with Special Defense and Speed stats, making it one of the most formidable Temtem in the early game. The Mental and Wind type Temtem also comes with boosted stats in all the categories, and with its unique set of techniques has the potential to become the strongest Temtem in any Temtem player's arsenal.

To catch a Barnshe, players must make their way over to the Windward Fort, and spend their times searching on the top floor. This is the only place that Barnshe has reportedly been found, so Temtem players should keep a keen eye out and regularly check the area if they're hoping to catch one.

Nessla

The Water and Electric-type Temtem seems to be inspired by the monster of Scotland's Loch Ness. Unfortunately for Temtem players, the creature seems to be just as elusive as Scotland's Nessie well. Nessla boasts very high Attack, Special Attack, and Special Defense stats, and looks like a light-blue eel with a stream of yellow scales covering its underside.

Nessla's techniques are considered powerful enough for the end-game. These techniques include Iced Stalactite and Electric Storm. Temtem players that are lucky enough to find one will undoubtedly consider Nessla one of the strongest additions to their lineups.

Moving Forward

Its still very early in the Temtem universe, as represented best by the early-access on Steam at the moment. As there are only 76 Temtem currently available to players, with a Tempedia that holds slots for over 150, players can expect and look forward to catching plenty more Temtem in the future.

That is, once the game is formally launched on Steam.

Temtem is available now on PC in Early Access.
