The Final Fantasy series has given players a slew of unique and memorable characters, each with their own specialties, to use in battle. In conjunction with the recurring and versatile job system that the series is known for, players have a variety of playable characters and jobs to use for their playthrough.

With different specialties, however, come different layouts when it comes to the stats that a certain character or job has to offer. In this case, certain characters in particular have a noticeably higher Magic stat than others in the playable party. With magic being a valuable asset to any Final Fantasy playthrough, these characters have the highest stat growth when it comes to magic.

7 Yuna (Final Fantasy 10)

Final Fantasy 10's Sphere Grid system remains one of the most unique leveling systems in the series. Rather than simply gaining a level upon receiving enough experience points, each character is given their own path to traverse and fill out using the AP they receive after each battle.

While any character can raise their magic with the Sphere Grid, it is Yuna who has the highest magic growth in the game, befitting her status as the party's White mage and Summoner. Her high magic growth stems from her having the most Magic nodes in her personal grid path, which makes her path suitable for the party's Black mage Lulu as well.

6 Vivi Ornitier (Final Fantasy 9)

Keeping with the theme of tradition, Final Fantasy 9 incorporates the standard leveling system for all of its characters, and the adorable little black mage Vivi is no exception. Being one of four magic users in the game, Vivi has the highest base magic stat in the game. With a maximum of 62, he barely dwarfs Garnet's maximum by a single digit.

Vivi's high base magic makes his signature Black magic a true force to be reckoned with in battle, given that the player is able to learn all of his potential spells and the various elemental weaknesses in the game. The only downside to this is that unlike Garnet, who is both a capable healer and summoner, Vivi is only geared toward offense magic, thus making him a not-so-versatile party member.

5 Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy 7)

As the party's de facto healer throughout the first third of Final Fantasy 7, Aerith is naturally well-equipped for healing and bolstering the party through the use of magic. With a maximum magic stat of 100, Aerith has the potential to deal great magical damage while simultaneously restoring the party.

The remake of Final Fantasy 7 similarly portrays Aerith as the party's primary mage, and it even has Aerith use her signature staves to cast spells in place of regular physical attacks. But despite her great magical potential, Aerith lacks heavily in terms of HP, requiring players to plan carefully when using her in situations with numerous enemies.

4 Relm Arrowny (Final Fantasy 6)

While it may seem as though Terra and Celes have the highest magic stats in Final Fantasy 6, that honor actually goes to Thamasa's resident artist Relm. Though her base magic stat pales in comparison to other characters in the series, such as Vivi and Aerith, Relm's base magic, which is at 44 upon her recruitment, still remains the highest in her original game.

While Final Fantasy 6's magicite system allows any character to deal magical damage, equipping Relm with a compatible esper is a must for players who wish to use her. Weapon-wise, Relm's paintbrushes do not serve many purposes aside from enabling the Sketch command, but they do give a decent boost to her other stats.

3 Hope Estheim (Final Fantasy 13)

Due to the nature of the game's great Crystarium system, any playable character in Final Fantasy 13 can fulfill most of the available roles in the game. Therefore, the party can be configured in any way players see fit, resulting in a possible balanced distribution of stats.

Despite the vast ways the party can be configured, it is unanimous that Hope, a rather underrated character in the Final Fantasy series, has the highest magic stat in Final Fantasy 13, with a possible maximum of 1,900. In particular, Hope has access to every magical spell in the game, unanimously making him the best Ravager.

2 Rinoa Heartilly (Final Fantasy 8)

Much like Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy 8's Junction system allows players to optimize their party in any fashion they please. So long as players are junctioning the right spells to the right stats, even the worst party members have a chance to shine in battle.

While she is far from the worst party member in the game, this does not stop Rinoa from having the highest natural magic stat in Final Fantasy 8. Even disregarding the Junction system and other Magic-boosting items and abilities, Rinoa's maximum magic stat of 63 makes her spells and Angel Wing limit break a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

1 Lenna Charlotte Tycoon (Final Fantasy 5)

Though leveling in Final Fantasy 5 is useful in some ways, the fastest way to raise stats in the game is to master each job. However, base stats are also important when choosing a job, as is the case with Lenna and her default magic stat of 28, higher than anyone else in the party.

Because of her base magic stat, Lenna will perform outstandingly in magic-oriented jobs, namely the Black and White Mage jobs as well as the Oracle job. If leveled up correctly, it is possible for Lenna to have a maximum of 61 when it comes to magic, though it should be noted that the same methods can also apply to the rest of the party.
