War of The Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Square Enix and Gumi's beloved gacha game for mobile, announced a new crossover banner and limited-time quest. Through this special event, the characters will cross paths with some of the Phantom Thieves from Atlus' Persona 5 Royal, marking the first time the two sagas collaborate. Players will be able to pull for these new heroes in two unique banners and recruit them to join their parties, as well as fight some bosses from the original game.

War Of The Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a spin-off of another mobile game, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It is one of the most successful gacha games in Square Enix's mobile catalog, and features an almost completely original cast. However the game has frequent events where players get to recruit versions of their favorite Final Fantasy characters from the entire series. The gameplay is based on Final Fantasy Tactics, one of the most beloved entries in the series, as opposed to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius which drew from the 16-bit era of games.

The Persona 5 Collaboration In War of the Visions

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius x Persona 5 Royal

While the cast of War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is mostly comprised of original characters, this title has had many collaborations with other games in the Final Fantasy series. Square Enix has taken every chance to promote its releases and games, and players could pull in banners not unlike Genshin Impact's for characters such as Cloud and Tifa from Final Fantasy 7 Remake, or Cecil and Golbez from Final Fantasy 4, among many others. The Persona 5 event marks the first time that the game has had non-Final Fantasy characters other than the Nier event, which is also a Square Enix property.

So far, the collaboration has only been confirmed for the Japanese version of the game, which the global version follows some eight months behind. So far, the game has followed the Japanese version's release schedule very closely. That means western players can expect to play through this event around July or August in 2022, which could still be considered within the 25th-anniversary celebration for the Persona series. The featured characters will be Joker, Queen, and Violet. In this version, they will be drawn in Ryoji Ohara’s style in order to fit the aesthetic of the rest of the game.

The banners will release in Japan on December 22, 2021, and will run up to January 31, 2022. On December 22, Joker and Queen will be gainable Ultra Rare units, while Violet will arrive a week later as an Ultra Rare unit on New Year’s. Besides the characters themselves, War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will feature a new event quest featuring bosses from Persona 5 such as Kamoshida, Kaneshiro, and Niijima. They will all feature their own unique maps in the style of the original game, so players can expect to run through Kamoshida's castle, Kaneshiro's bank vault, and Nijima's casino.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is now available on Mobile for both Android and iOS.
