Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is yet another rereleased game riding the wave of nostalgia for consoles long gone. Released in August 2019, FF8 Remastered brings back all the memories of battling against Sorceress Edea for the future of the world, but with much better graphics than the old FFVIII.
The main character, Squall, is part of SeeD, the elite mercenary force of the Balamb Garden Military Academy. Players start off as students at the lowest level of SeeD rankings, which means they also get the lowest level of pay possible. Boosting reputation with SeeD is incredibly important to getting enough funds to finish the game. SeeD ranks are earned by completing missions, in-game steps taken, and by taking SeeD ranking tests.
How SeeD Tests Work
Players will need SeeD tests to help them boost their SeeD rankings, especially since Final Fantasy 8 will now allow players to turn off all those rank-boosting random battles. There are a grand total of 30 SeeD tests, and each correctly answered question will boost rankings and help earn Squall and squad more money.
Taking tests is a great way to earn rankings fast, however, rankings are limited to Squall's character level. So if a player is only level 10, they top out at a SeeD Ranking of 10 until they level up some more. Another important thing to note is that a player cannot take tests that are a higher level than their current SeeD ranking. This means that if they are SeeD rank 3, they will only be able to take the first three tests.
Accessing SeeD testing in Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is simple. Squall doesn't have to be in the Garden or anywhere special to access the SeeD tests, so a player can take the tests even when they are out grinding. Simply go into the TUTORIAL menu and select the fifth menu option down, called TEST. Each of the SeeD tests are composed of ten yes-or-no questions about the world, characters, and various in-game mechanics. Select the first test and input all the correct answers (listed below) and watch Squall's income skyrocket.
