The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming next month and will be a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5 for six months. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade also includes a new DLC pack, Episode Yuffie.

Episode Yuffie features all-new playable characters and bridges the gap between the first and second parts of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Quite a lot has been revealed about Episode Yuffie, including some of how the DLC will change the game's story and how long players can expect it to last. Now, it has been revealed that the content will only be available via download.

Players who own the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be able to upgrade their copy to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for free, but they still will have to pay for Episode Yuffie. Players who just purchase the new version of the game will get Episode Yuffie bundled in for free, but even players who purchase the physical edition will have to download the DLC. The news comes via Australian video games retailer EB Games, which updated its store page for the game stating that Episode Yuffie will be a download code supplied in the game's case.

The news has raised a few issues that excited fans are worried about, specifically concerns over the preservation of the DLC. While the decision was eventually walked back, PlayStation almost shut down the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita stores. The closure would have removed access to hundreds of titles, and some fans are worried that the same could eventually happen to Episode Yuffie if it is only ever available through digital download.

The fact that Episode Yuffie will not be fully included with physical copies of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is a bit surprising. Hopefully, the DLC will make its way to physical versions or other storefronts in the future so that it can be better preserved to ensure that players can always have access to it.

However, the exclusivity of both Final Fantasy 7 Remake as well as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade still has a while left, so it may be a while before the title jumps to other platforms if it ever does at all. It is still exciting to be a Final Fantasy fan, however, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is posed to give fans a good look at what they may be able to expect from part two of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and the Episode Yuffie DLC will release on June 10 for PlayStation 5.
