Update 7/11: Square Enix has denied that there are any plans for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox One. Original story follows.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is not advertised as being a PlayStation 4 exclusive game, but the PS4 is also the only system that the game is announced for at the time of this writing. Even so, there has been some evidence in the past that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be coming to other platforms, including the Xbox One, with a video uploaded to Facebook by Xbox Germany potentially even revealing the unannounced port's release date.

Xbox Germany uploaded a video to its Facebook page earlier today that claimed Final Fantasy 7 Remake was coming to Xbox One on March 3, 2020. Xbox Germany then removed the video, with Marketing Communications and Social Lead Maxi Graff taking to Twitter to say that the video was uploaded accidentally.

"We did an internal mistake in the Social Team," Graff explained. "We took the video off immediately. Sorry, no announcement on our side. Big apologies for this." It's unclear if the mistake being made was someone at Xbox Germany jumping the gun on an imminent Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One release date announcement or if the game isn't coming to Xbox One at all and the video itself was made in error.

If Final Fantasy 7 Remake is coming to Xbox One on March 3, 2020, that would mean that it would be launching on the same day as the PS4 version. This seems unlikely, as if an Xbox One version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is in the works for March 3, 2020, one has to imagine that it would have been announced by now. Plus, it's generally assumed that there is some kind of Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS4 timed-exclusivity deal in place, especially since the game has only been announced for PS4 and has been prominently featured in PlayStation State of Play videos and E3 presentations.

This isn't the first time that we've heard of a possible Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One port. In fact, just a month ago, GameStop Ireland posted a listing for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox One, even allowing users to pre-order the game for the platform. However, when E3 2019 came and went with no Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One announcement, many assumed that the GameStop listing was made in error, which could very well be what happened with this Xbox Germany slip-up.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on March 3, 2020 for PS4.
